I've been using these fluffy balls in my Large 3000 GPU Intex Sand Filter Pump for 3 years. They are Great!! Pump pressure Never goes up. They clean the pool like magic. To clean I put them in a mesh bag with a closed top, and run them thru my washing machine. In the winter, I wash them, dry them in the sun. And hang them in the mesh bag in my garage till next summer. I keep two sets of them to just swap out.

I didnt purchase this particular kit from Amazon, BUT you gave me a wonderful idea about these filter balls I've been seeing on the internet for a long time now! I have a different model than you, but I saved the plastic core of an old paper filter, and stuffed some of these balls around the old core like what you did, inside the filter case, and holy smokes no more paper filters! Thank you for sharing this genius video!

@RachisLove4 жыл бұрын
How did you do that? I'm so curious! All in for saving money! 🤚🏽
@nobodyuknow19394 жыл бұрын
You cut the old paper filter with the scissors really careful all the way around until you can separate the old paper filter in two pieces and you will see the plastic core thats in the middle. It keeps the paper filter from collapsing in on itself when the pump is running. Then take the plastic core and put in the filter housing and fill the housing with the filter balls, all around the plastic core. Works like a charm for me!
@timvanderbruggen15734 жыл бұрын
@@nobodyuknow1939 type b filter? I was thinking about this to. Does the core fit snug in the filter? I had my doubts. I ordered balls and i'm gonna do something similar
@nobodyuknow19394 жыл бұрын
@@timvanderbruggen1573 I'm not sure about the B filter. The C filter has a plastic core that allows you to insert a one inch chlorine table in the middle, halfway down the core, so when I insert the plastic core into the filter housing while turned on (Summer Waves SFX1000), I stuff the filter balls around the core, and then put several down the middle of the core, because they stop halfway down when they hit the screen, so it's all pretty much sealed really tight once the pump suction comes on. Theres no bypass for me. Hope that helps you.

I have a skimmer type filter, which uses the Type C filter (Intex pool). I have seven filters and change it every day. I give the dirty ones a good blast with my garden hose and they come out almost perfectly clean (but be prepared to get wet while doing it!). I buy knee-high trouser socks from the dollar store (waaayyyy less expensive than buying the filter socks from the pool supply place, and really protect your filter from premature death, lol), wash them out (by hand, with the garden hose). I rotate through my filters, after they've spent a week in the sunshine. My filters have lasted better than five years now. I've actually worn out a couple of them, but even at their ridiculous price ($12.99 each here in Canada), if you can make them last four or five years by taking good care of them, it actually workers out to be less expensive in the long run. I also find that by changing the filter daily, I have much better water flow and filtration all the time
@DidedisCraftyCorner4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the trouser sock idea with the filters . I will pass it along . It might help someone especially since filters are hard to find and price gouging is the norm lately.

Thank you for posting this video. I am doing research for this item. I really appreciate it. Just a constructive advice, your filter pump is too high. It needs to be below the hole of the output from the pool that's why the balls on top are not wet. Once you lower the pump, preferably ground level, you need to let all the air out though that valve on top of the pump. You should have water coming through that valve when all the air is let out. This will also make your pump work more efficiently. You mentioned that your have sprinklers, I also saw the wet ground. You can set the pump on square stepping stones and then cover the pump with a container to prevent them from getting wet. I hope this helps. Thanks you again for posting this video.

Wilfred Sabalburo thanks for the comment , my pump is normally on the ground. For the video I placed it higher so the water would not flow out for the demonstration. Hugs ! Diane

Before buying stuff, do some research. When you paper filter gets full you can easily rinse it out with a reasonably strong beam of water (garden hose gun) and it literally looks as new. You can use them for months that way.
@DidedisCraftyCorner Жыл бұрын
Absolutely did my research! At the time of this video we were in lockdown , and pools and filters were impossible to find . I had some filters , but needed a solution for the lack of product. And this worked wonderfully. And still does! Also the more times you rinse and reuse a paper filter the less effective it is . Fact … three times is the most you should rinse and use . But thank you for your comment. ♥️

Not being mean at all, but the filters last a lot longer than statements made here about them only lasting 1 day. This is simply not true in anyway shape or form. I usually only buy 2 a season if that. I jet wash them out every other day and they work great.
@DidedisCraftyCorner3 жыл бұрын
May not be true for you . Not everyone has the same water or even the same pump. And for a while the filters quality was super bad ,as well as not being able to find them. I never in all my years used two filters all season. At best one a week with rinsing and the water quality suffered with each rinse.
