The cocktail for everyone who got iron infusions where I got them was: Decadron (steroid), Benadryl, and Phenergan. I have the opposite reaction to Benadryl, it makes me agitated. Because of this, I requested the smallest dose. It is possible that without the steroid for you that there was only a down effect and also not full allergy protocol. Glad you're ok but I would insist on doing what you know works in the future.

Also coffee and caffeine makes that time of the month harder so I can’t drink it then because the floodgate are open more! So hope this helps you! ❤

Mrs. Gina, have you an your OBGYN ever discuss doing an uterine ablation. My Wife had iron problems as well with heavy bleeding. Wife got the surgery haven't had to get her iron infusion. It's been over 6 months things are going good.

Hey Gina! I get iron infusions as well the Benadryl going directly into your bloodstream will knock you out. The cocktail mixture probably lessened the dose of Benadryl. I’m glad you’re ok.

Hi Gina, coffee started to bother my stomach. I used to drink 4 cups a day, now I drink 2 cups per day. Coffee has caffine in it but I read can has something it it that removes plaque from the brain that can cause dementia. So for that reason I will never completely give up coffee. Green Tea has some good health benefits but Ai jus don’t like it. So glad you like the doctor and the facility, that is so important. Sorry your experience with the infusion was bad, but the corrected it immediately. Love and Merry Christmas to you all.❤️🎄

Gina, do you get your vitamin D level checked in your blood work? Vitamin D allows the body to absorb iron, so your vitamin D level needs to be high as well. I wish you could bring your iron level up without receiving the infusions.
