Talli Faye...Girllll...I have been watching you for about a week...ain't gonna lie...yes I subscribed and let me tell you why, first, you say "Don't be scared"...I am self taught cook, been cooking all my life and raised my niece and let her cook with me as a child and she's 30 now with 2 kids and one on the way...I have always told her to not be scared...lol...secondly...you LOVE Jesus!! When I was young our parents FORCED us to eat potato salad, so I cannot stand the smell or taste of it and my husband loves it. If he wants some he has to buy it at the store and eat it in a different room of the house. I just can't....anyway...I LOVE you and your cooking...I'm disabled and you keep me busy when my husband is working!! THANK YOU!!!

I make good potato salad I have to say at least that's what my friends say. But I wanted to see what you put in yours, Talli. You put other things in your such as pickles, jalapenos and bell pepper which I don't put in mine and it looked yummy. I would definitely eat it if it had those extra ingredients in it. I put potatoes, green onions, broccoli, shredded carrots, diced up celery, a few herbs and spices and sliced eggs on top of course. And btw your trick about food storage and the paper towel/aluminum foil is spot on! I had found that technique two or three years ago and it's a tip that the experts will give you to keep your food the freshest. You simply wrap them in a paper towel and even a slightly damp paper towel will work but then put aluminum foil around it but make sure that you leave a little bit open for any gas to escape. When you do that oh my goodness they stay fresh for way longer in your refrigerator and I'd always had a problem with keeping baby cucumbers which I like the most in my salads, fresh without rotting after like 4 or 5 days This will keep them much longer and that goes for other vegetables that have a tendency to overripen or spoil too soon. So I'm so happy you mentioned that! Lastly you need way more subscribers Talli then you have! I pray they find you because you are one incredible person... so fun and you just spread that sunshine around and then you treat us all by showing us some wonderful recipes that we can make ourselves! ❤️

My grandpas nickname was Buzz. At some point it morphed into Buss. His brothers all had nicknames. One was called Fats. Even though he was tall and skinny like a string bean. Somehow they were nicknamed by their social group. All of them hung together with a few other couples from here in the panhandle of Texas area. Not sure exactly why they got the nicknames. They wore cowboy hat with Perl button shirts. True cowboys in the old fashioned way cattle was their jobs and businesses. But they all spent their days working very hard , on horseback a good part of the day. But on the weekend they let loose. They were all Texas swing fans. They were pretty much groupies and where ever Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys were playing in the the panhanhandle of Texas, that’s where they would be on Saturdays. Dancing the evening away to the Western swing. Then, back home Sunday for church, family dinners, then start the whole thing over again Monday morning. Keeping in mind, that even though the weekends was their playtime. Even on the weekends the animals all had to be cared for, the gardens maintained, and there was no fast food, so the food had to be prepared. But they loved life. But they got their nicknames for some reason by their swing dancing. Must have been a thing at that time. I am 66 years old, and whom I am speaking of here were my grandparents. Buss and Nezzie ( her nickname of course ).

I could never get my potato salad to turn out like my mom's, I finally realized that the difference was that she boiled them with the skin on and peeled them when they were still hot, and I peeled and cut them first. It makes them creamier, but you have to use smaller potatoes, about the size of a large lemon. And definitely mix everything while they are warm.

Been binge watching. Heading to the kitchen and making stuff here and there. Made the buttermilk pie! Yummy! Making Texas spegetti for dinner tomorrow. Definitely going to try this potato salad. I do mine with big chunks of potatoes and big pieces of egg and a bit of relish and chopped onions and Mayo dash of mustard. Oh and garlic. But I really want to try this with all that flavor going on. And crunchy bites .. yum!

You use Miracle Whip for your Tater salad, what about egg salad? Same??
@inthekitchenwithtallifaye47243 ай бұрын
Yes I do 😊…. It’s just a preference though … mayo is good too…. I guess it’s that touch of sweet/tangy flavor I like about Miracle Whip
@craighebert46553 ай бұрын
@@inthekitchenwithtallifaye4724 I’m kinda the same way. MW is like mayo in a lot of ways, but unique enough to stand on its own.
