KZbin compression. I can only export at 16 bit dithered output from Davinci resolve unfortunately. I believe it's a KZbin issue because I don't hear it on my system until I'm listening on my phone on KZbin. It's very frustrating. Even all the colour grading and editing I do doesn't look good when uploaded to KZbin. Being totally honest KZbin have not treated me well as a creator and I can't even talk to one real human about any issues I have with the platform!

It was your tip at 12:04 onwards that helped me. It was the reason I'm here. The audio interface driver is great for the least latency but it crashes everytime I go to mix or master a big hefty track even with the buffer set up to max. After your tip I switched over to the ASIO4ALL driver with a high buffer and there are no more crashes where they once used to be. Edit: I used the FL Asio driver and there's no more crashes or lagging what-so-ever. I can finally somewhat rely on it from now on! Thanking you so much bro!

Clicking around, typing on the keyboard, and moving your mouse is giving your computer more stuff to sift through, and can sometimes overload it.

Been using Presonus Studio Pro for the last 8 years and it's never crashed since the earlier versions back in the day as it had matured over the years. It's rock solid stable written by the same developers of Cubase and Nuendo. I also have Pro-Tools and if crashes quit often. Using cracked software can cause alot of crashes too which is why I advise people to stop pirating software and just buy the software as there is no excuse given how affordable software is these days.

A slight addition on the CPU Meter Tip. I would sometimes have the issue, that the display for that was lagging behind; Meaning it was at 0 for a couple of seconds at the start, endorsing me to click something which would lead to the crash, same goes for a static display of usage. So you might wanna keep an extra eye out, even though your meter is not red.

@M A T E R I A L but i still don't encourage the use of pirated software. Lemme tell you why. Through your comment you said that there are legit websites for downloading cracked softwares which are very stable , without bugs and shit . And after you Brought a new computer guy still have no problem with FL. Good. Yes you are right. It all depends on the cpu specs and not on the kind of software. If you are using a cracked software and have a good PC..there will be very less problems or no problems. So why I made those comments above? I don't encourage the use of using cracked software. People should purchase these softwares and use them. Some ppl first use cracked softwares and then go with the actual one. You would understand only if you had your own fuckin company and selling such softwares and shit. At the end you want all for free .... right? Yeah all my above theories false and as a computer student I have failed. Thanks for the advice tho. You people learn to invest in something... Everyone can hack, go search for proper pirated software and use it. But only some can save money and purchase a software. I want to produce muisic..but from the past 2 years I am watching tutorials and other a on KZbin. I'm saving money for the software where as my parents are saving money for a computer. Grow up. Everyone can accumulate information like you and have knowledge of legit websites cracked but proper softwares. But very few think in a decent and legal way. And when someone wants to bring some change why do people like you interfere? Huh? Go ..... Pay for the software you have and get a legal one.!

To 04:30. Always remember, if you are using an HDD it will begin to slow down, if more than 50% of it is full. Try to prevent situation by either using an SSD or moving your stuff to another drive that is not used by your OS and FL Studio.

I Would suggest NOT saving zipped folders, and instead saving new project alternatives as .flp files (song, song_1, song_2 etc), and regularly exporting the project data files to the same folder instead, this ensures that the zip files won't all be filled with the exact same samples, loops, stems etc, each time, because that can very quickly fill up your hard drive space, additionally, opening zip files directly into FL studio takes far longer, since it has to read the entire file first before it can do anything, the bigger the file size = the longer this will take, same thing applies when saving, you'll have to wait quite some time for it to repack the flp and all the samples into the zip file. also, a bonus tip; if you use edison alot, and save flps with audio files open in numerous instances of edison, then those audio files will actually be stored INSIDE the actual flp file, futher increasing the load time and chance of crashes, make sure to save a new alternative version (Ctrl + N) and remove all the edison instances, or drag the files into the playlist first before doing so, i've often had flp files over and beyond 3GB, that then shrink to around 80MB after doing this, great video as always

Should not be normal! But great information according to this topic - maybe I try to use the advanced pluing‘s settings! Thanks!

Thanks Michael. You're real. You forgot one point... Production studios should be OFFLINE! No internet, only essential background processes (check admin services), no A/V Update, no Windows updating, no browsers open, no software update checks, no unnecessary stuff running like Acro tray, etc. no bonjour. I am a PC builder with 30+ yrs. experience. My computer doesn't crash. (Ever so rarely, only on beta plugins.) It does however take an expert configurator to setup a lean offline machine. So study, learn how to stop unnecessary processes, forge ahead. LOL. Do you really need those background services like fax polling? Really... just learn. And make miraculous music. And buy big hard drives, I have 40Tb. Always leave 10-20% free on EVERY drive! Thank you Michael.

3:45 - It's funny, FL has a difficult time finding files if you place them in sub folders under the parent directory. I like to sort my MIDIs and Audio files for example. If the Parent folder is renamed or something else is renamed, then FL can't locate the files in said subfolders. It's really weird. Ultimately I make zips of projects as they contain more and more data over time. Just recalls all the files that way.

no offense, just for your information since you said you don't know it exactly. The fact that pcs get slower if your drives are fuller is only valid for HDD-drives, that haven't been defragmented. if you keep your HDD defragmented, it stays just as fast as when it was new. For SSD-drives it's completely irrelevant. (don't try do defrag SSDs, it just shortens their lifetime since they have a limited read/write-operations-amount) Anyway great Video, keep up the good work !
@inthemix
@inthemix 5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the info but it gets slower with SSDs too, from personal experience. I think it's best practice to just keep within a good memory limit and not push it too far
@funguy8801
@funguy8801 4 жыл бұрын
In The Mix is correct. SSDs slow down significantly when they have less free space. File fragmentation may not be a factor like with HDDs but try comparing the performance of an SSD with about 70% free space to the exact same SSD with only about 20% free space and then back again (once you free space up on it) ... you will see a big speed difference for certain.

when im creating, my new thing is to resample EVERYTHING into a new project with ZERO plugins except the ones that are used to trigger the resamples. from this session is where I play my patterns and make the beat. its a game changer... completely removes CPU and latency from the equation. basically mixing first.
