I love using pheasant tail on lots of wet flies. It's always a catcher color. I use the brassie with the pheasant tail fibers wrapped then copper over it. I can make thehead from any color but most of the time just a tiny wrap of a peacock.

Hi, and thanks for the great video. Very instructional. Do you ever sub dubbing for the hurl? If so, what material/color? Also, swing only on the style of fishing? Dropper from a dry, or maybe dead-drift? Thanks again!!

Awesome fly buddy. Love the soft hackle look with them Partridge Feathers. That would produce lovely action in the water. What size fly was that again?

Good looking pattern. I have had better luck tying in partridge and other similar game bird feathers by the tip, and stripping off half the fibers for a sparser look. Just a suggestion.

I know you said this is a very effective fly the way it is. I am out of partridge! Will another soft hackle work do you think? I have so many feathers I don't want to buy anymore right now. Did you ever try it with a tail? I am wondering if there is a situation in which a tail might help. Thanks for your experience. Let me know what you think. I never buy bags of feathers but before I buy another skin, I think I may have to try them. Let me know about different soft hackle. All the best, Sean

Would you add a tail? If so, out of what material?
