Vladimir, I discovered you when you showed up on KZbin while I was searching for a particular Perdigon pattern. In very short order, you have become my favorite tier. Your patterns are excellent, and your teaching skills superb. Sharing your thinking about flies and fishing is a unique feature, and one that I really like. The long and short of it is that you are at the top of the fly-tying game, at least in my opinion. I hope you get all the attention you deserve. :) And, your cat is the coolest ever!

However, lately i am getting a good feedback from people that i may be on the right track. So thanks once again. I really appreciate it. I hope i will continue to make videos that are at least same quality as now. Happy New year Cheers Vladimir Ps: thank you for the cat. He is cool little guy 😀😀 and his dubbing is great 😂

Yesterday, used it again and caught 5 in a few years. Caught the first one, then switched to another favorite of mine as I continued moving up the river. Came to a "deep" slow moving run (37cfs 😂) and put it on again and caught more. Thank you. What sizes do you typically use? I only tied #16 so far.

Very nicely done--as usual. I tie a very similar fly to this one and can confirm its effectiveness. I especially liked your use of the wire as a hot spot. If you used a pink wire, as you mentioned, it would have been an even more noticeable hot spot.

Hi Vladimir. Some feedback on using this fly. I was a bit skeptical at first using pink bead with this fly pattern. However, happily, the trout proved me wrong. I caught lots of fish on the Madison early in the season--especially when the river was running high and off color. Inspired by another one of your videos, I used larger beads than I normally would have ( e.g. 2.8 mm and 3.3 mm ). That was not an issue. The bead video was: "Thoughts on Tungsten Bead Size"
@Oholisfliesandfishing2 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for your feedback. Try those in clear water too. For some reason they work great.... Not always but they have moments. Usually i have 3 beads that i use all the time.... Copper, silver... And pink... Thats all.
@schmoonkie2 жыл бұрын
@@Oholisfliesandfishing I remember you commenting on the bead colors you favor. I've also used black and gold as well. Last year I tied a fly, which was a simple variation on Devin Olsen's Crossover Nymph. I used gold wire for ribbing and gold tungsten bead. It turned out to be one of my top producers in August. I'll see if it does as well this year. Another bead color that did very well this year was orange painted. The problem with the pink and the orange beads was that the coloring chipped off the beads relatively quickly, sometimes by fish taking the fly, other times by the fly bouncing on river rocks.
