Coincidentally (again!) I am painting a clothesline, backlit, of white laundry blowing in the breeze. So what a big help this is! I'm always amazed at the depth and variation of whites, depending on the surroundings. Thanks, Dianne!

Thank you Dianne for your wonderful videos. Just a precision, not sure which titanium white you are using, but in my experience and according to Golden Artist Colors and Natural Pigments websites, titanium white has a blue bias. So it tents to be cool, and Zinc tends to be warm. Hope this helps, I will keep digging on the subject ❤

Marc, I am using the Gamblin titanium white, but since the temperature of colors we mix is controlled by hue rather than white, the temperature of the white doesn't matter.

Dianne, i've been watching your videos for a long time, and i really love them so much. It helps me to understand more about painting especially from reference. Despite all that, i have a question for you. What do you think about (not from reference) painting from imagination? Will you make a video for it? Thank you♡

Painting from imagination can be a wonderful experience. But in order to do so with confidence, doing studies from the actual world plus getting a handle on how to compose paintings can go a long way towards being able to express your imaginative work.
