Tolerance people. Learn it, live it, love it! Just to offer another viewpoint: We Americans seldom say rubbers anymore, though some middle aged Americans may still get the idea, certainly most whom are younger than 55 yrs of age were converted to use the words condom and eraser back in the 1980’s. Similar to the massive confusion of pants vs trousers vs underpants as compared to England’s Pants vs Trousers and knickers. We have a subset of pants that are called trousers, but all trousers are pants, and nobody wears underpants or underwear outside of trousers or pants. Perhaps you might try putting inadditional effort to be more open minded considering some of England’s popular colloquialisms are quite vulgar here like c uh nt for generally any adult human or f agg for a cigarette, or ff agg ott for a type of meatball. Here those words are so offensive that it is often considered a form of hate speech. Let’s just all try to get along? And “Have a lovely day!”💕💞🥰😊

Dip your brush or toothbrush into a strong solution of washing up liquid & water before masking fluid & if using it a lot, I wipe off excess in paper towel then dip in w up liquid & water again before dipping back into the masking fluid. When finished wash your (old) brush & its fully clean for next use. A tip I found out about 15 years ago & it really does work. Thank you for sharing these great tips, given me lots of ideas. 🎨💐🤗

🤩👍 Love these techniques!! You should really write a 'how to' book. 😊 With the ball pin-head dot technique, you could stick the pin into the end of a pencils eraser to make it less volatile to work with. Lol 😂 I've made texture tools before by taking a rectangle eraser and sticking several pins into it, even making designs such as a heart or starburst, then I'd dip it into my acrylic paint and "stamp" the pin head side down onto the canvas. (It works especially well for putting areas of dotted rows onto something that you want to be very uniform, such as borders or a striped shirt.) ☺️ Thanks again for sharing your vast array of art knowledge!

Hi Michelle, do you ever make prints of your paintings? Or rework a painting in the print medium? THANKS!
@IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber
@IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber Жыл бұрын
I have often made prints of my paintings, and I also do traditional printmaking. Making less prints (reproductions) now, simply because rising shipping costs (most of my art goes to the US), and Brexit has caused issues that means it's almost impossible to make any profit. And EU customs simply isn't working as it was.

Have you tried Pebeo masking GUM from France, but available everywhere in bottles or pens. We have had good luck with it. I also use a slightly thinned down Windsor-Newton masking fluid, which I thin a bit with water. If I am just using masking in small amounts, I save and use my caps off of juice bottles. Works perfectly, and I can reuse over and over. Thanks.

Did you know that you can apparently use the Schminke miskit with water. One of the watercolour pouring KZbinrs uses it and then uses a brush with water to give her nice soft edges with her pours. She layers over and over with the Schminke misket on her poured works. It definitely stays on for days and days with her pours as they do take days and she has to wait for them to dry. I have just bought a bottle to have a play with. When I first went looking for masking fluid I nearly balked at the cost and it was a local to me brand. (As local as it can be at least as it was an Australian maker). I transfer some into a needle tip bottle to make fine lines. I also use a ruling pen and a dip pen occasionally. I also use a silicone tipped brush or wipe out tool to apply masking fluid.

I love your videos. I'm 67 years young and did my first 'painting' 2 weeks ago and it wasn't too bad. Encouraged by my first ever creation I tried another wet in wet masterpiece. WHAT WENT WRONG? The paper was still soaking after 9 (yes ... NINE DAYS!) I wonder if it was the salt I sprinkled onto the canvas. When I tried to remove the surrounding tape after trying to dry it on a lamp shade the tape took off the paper! After 2 hours on top of the lamp shade the middle section was crinkled but dry ... the next morning it was really damp again ... soggy would be a better word! I used proper artists 2 inch wide tape and a top notch brand of 140 pound watercolour paper. I've watched countless videos on KZbin over the last few months and finally decided it was time to put brush to canvas. Help!!!!!

Thank you for your tips. What I found out is that before soaking any kind of brush into the masking liquid, it is useful to put any kind of soap on it. Then it is cleared out easily and it doesn't effect the impression on the paper at all.
