Try snapping the toothpick in half and "knocking" the cut end on the table before use. I teach on cruise ships and use toothpicks with my students. They are cheap and can just be thrown away after use.

wonderful insight. I own Michele’s split primary set and they are fantastic. Definitely investing in Michele’s other watercolor sets. Still learning how to mix an alternative for the petal shadow color. If anyone needs tips on mixing that vomit color, I’m your man : )

How I choose my colors you ask: the way you taught me from the watercolor beginners course, with swatches. Now, I have a question. I am challenging myself to mix colors using only the three primary colors warm and cool version. My question is, are there any tips to know which of the two versions to use? Perhaps the topic for a new video 🥰
@IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber2 күн бұрын
Yes good idea. Honestly I often do it instinctively and mix the warm and cool. For example I might want a cool blue and a warm yellow or the other way round. I generally go cool on the red as a pink is just so much more versatile than a scarlet, unless it's a warm sunset 😄

Very helpful. I have been studying bird anatomy with pencil and fountain pen and really needed something about painting. I especially liked your showing how not to get to detailed and letting things blur together and the soft edges between background and foreground.

I think that's a very good idea to write down colors you will use along with techniques and any details you want to include in your painting before getting started. It's so important to have a plan for your painting. I like the idea of having a limited color palette. ❤

Hi Michele, My Mom is so excited that I'm learning to paint. She's such a good artist, but I'm taking your advice to not compare myself to her or anyone else. I already know my style is totally different than hers. Have also shown her your channel and she likes you, too.
