And there you have it: all that stuff that seems obvious only after somebody points your nose at it. 😊 Tried on a few quite differently styled mugs, including one that's supposed to look like a yellow smiley face, or a near-sphere with a handle, sides much wider than the top opening, and a very round looking bottom: trickey. But same principle. Thank you! This was fun.

I have experienced all these issues both lettering and ellipses these tips will really help. On the 9 day drawing challenge of the cup, I got the bottom ellipse wrong so I changed it to a cartoon cup on a cup. When a drawing turns out to be a lemon, create lemonade. Peace, love and good karma to all.

Thanks for the tutorial, you break it down so well 😊 are you using a HB pencil please? I'm learning watercolour and thought maybe I should draw on a sketch book first as I'm only ok with drawing. I traced the drawing from my sketchbook and then used carbon paper to transfer the image onto watercolour paper and it wouldn't rub out 😢 do you ever do this and what result do you get please? Thank you

Try Tracedown graphite paper. Regardless it's important not to press hard. I use a softer pencil generally, there are pros and cons. An HB will be lighter and cleaner but it is also more likely to dent your paper so a light touch is necessary.
