Chris a trick i have learned when noodling is to saw about 3/4 the way through the round then take a maul and hit the kerf of the noodle. saves a little wear on the saw motor , and big wear on the chain. usually takes one swing.

Is your initial cut downward made with the round on end ? Or with the round on its side , Like they were doing?

Like the Donna Summer song "you work (sic she works) hard for the money", I like the balance and new pace of the sped up "time laspe" portions which make for me enjoyable viewing as repetitive scenes wood seems to magically dissolve with mythical wood chuckers scampering about I know it's more work editing and want to thank you for the additional efforts. The nice thing about where I live in Scotland is that if a guy couldn't chop his own rings up anymore through age or infirmity 4 or 5 of us would go round on a weekend and spin a few yarns, maybe drink a beer or two, chuck a few burgers on a bbq and help a guy out. It's kinda dyin' out everywhere but I'm lucky to live in a place with some good people with great values.

Chris...I use a heavy (there is a heavy-duty and light-duty metal pan where when I bought mine Jackson only made contractors' wheelbarrows!) blue Jackson wheelbarrow with a contractors tube tire. Or even better get the heavy-duty one with two wheels then you don't have to worry about the load shifting and dumping! It makes carrying big rounds and lots of smaller rounds much easier on the back and legs. Twenty-two full mounded loads of split wood equals a full cord of wood when stacked.

I built the Equivalent to a Brick layers Cart. I bought a duel Wheel, Wheel Barrow Kit from Menards with out the Tub. Had 2 runners on the Bottom and a solid back over the Wheels, I cut to 24" and can get more on that than a Traditional Wheel Barrow. and You do not have to lift as high when putting big Rounds on it. A split load of Wood on that is a 24 Hr burn for Me. Mike M.

hi Chris..nice firewood...i also do firewood in British Columbia..some hardwood, birch and maple and the rest Douglas Fir..i am 70 so i like to take any little shortcut to save energy...those big rounds that you cut in half so you can.lift them why don't you just cut into them a couple of inches one guy doing that and then stick a fiberglass wedge into it and pop them in half with an axe..way easier and less work.

I've always wondered whether Superman ever got tired? And how long Superboy could last, because he's younger. Well I guess we have enough evidence to ponder awhile. Pondering is problematic. How do you learn to ponder? I know some are just nature's naturals. (I try!) Some take a few courses down at the Univ. of Science! And some go for a whole degree!! We're pretty much safe from them. They usually stay and teach. Takes them too much pondering to be a bona fide Woodchucker! So many questions to ponder! I may have to sit down with a cold one for awhile to do some serious pondering! _ Can you pond-er if you're at a lake? Anyway, good job guys! Give that guard dog some pettin' from me!!

You Woodyard guys drop some massive dumps. Just sayin'. 💩💩💩 Great job. A LOT of work with a lot more work to follow. I laughed at "All I had to do was load it up and haul it away." Yep, that's all you had to do...

@InTheWoodyard I've checked and no problems. I watch tons of KZbin. The only time the audio cuts out is when you film yourself talking, but I can hear your music, splitter, saws etc. I must be the only one
