Twelve Towns is the name of one of his albums, after he did the split EP with Koji. Intersections is a concept album about updates to previous songs. I believe this song is connected to Connecticut Steps.

Am I the only one who sees this as a dog who is generally awesome and an owner who treats the dog like shit? The owner only changes his mind after the dog is published in the paper as a hero. Asshole owner is shallow and awful.

No, I don't think it's because the dog is a hero. The owner looks distraught when he reads the paper and leaves to find the dog without a second thought. Sometimes, you don't realize how much someone means to you until they're gone. I think the owner realizes that there are more important things than his pride. He probably feels guilty too for all the bad things he did and wants to make up for it before it could be too late.
