The cool thing is that the towers were all underground until you awakened them all and the skull base was built over the tower and that's why it's atop the tower. It's such a cool lil world detail that makes botw such a great game.

Igneo Taluses can be cooled with ice arrows or Frost weapons. No need to keep getting burned! Same with the Frost Taluses (except you have to use Flame Weapons).

Hestu asking Link "What's with the silent treatment?" at 1:12:53 is such a nice little detail. Link was typically silent 100 years ago; it's said in Zelda's journal that he had confided in her that he had felt the pressure of being the great warrior and therefore felt it necessary to stay strong and silent as he bore his burden. So once he lost his memories, he was more expressive, that burden unknown to him. But as he gains his memories, he's less expressive, slowly coming to the same conclusion of silence that he did so long ago.

Gab! I just want you to know that you can style your horse! If you go to the stable south of Lake Hylia, to the very south, there's a lady by the horses who can customize your horse's mane, bridle and saddle. You can also get a few different bridle sets in the area.

It's probably too late now, but I'd actually recommend going south and east from the Great Plateau in your next episode. A couple of the spots you were looking at next were pretty forbidding cold areas, but the Lake and Faron regions are easy to miss, great for gathering resources, and have lots of good shrines. Set out from the eastern edge of the Plateau and then turn to the south when the road forks and cross the Bridge of Hylia. If you keep going far enough there's a really cute village tons of people don't even find.

Don't forget you can swap stamina containers for heart containers then back if you want. That one statue (in the village where your house is) will let you do it for a price. An easy way to temporarily boost heart containers to get the master sword. Yes lots and lots more to explore! Its a huge game. You get better winter armor in the north west area that is north of the rito area. The Great faeries will need more and more rupees to be able to get them to open up but looks like you have the hang of rock farming. Now to farm the dragon scales. Save the ancient cores for the other tech lab for various items. That lab is in the north east corner. Don't sell them. The other parts you can sell and easy to get more. The cores are rarer to get. They do have a few ways to farm them but its a chance thing if they (cores) get dropped. I forget where the rest of the climbing gear is and just easier to look up where the other two parts are. Yes arrow types can be fast swapped via a menu. You have to have a bow in your hand/equipped to be able to being it up. The octo rocks will clean rusty weapons and also reset the dammage/break counter iirc. When they pop up and suck in you can throw the weapon at them and they should suck it in. It will then spit it back out at you so watch out. Then just pick it back up.

The other two parts of the Climbing Gear are on the eastern side of Mount Lanayru and on Tenoko Island. I wouldn't recommend she look up things like that though, whether she gets them should depend on how much she's willing to explore for shrines.

I know it's early on in this video, but if you get all 3 pieces of the fire armor upgraded twice, you are then fire proof and can climb on the Igneo Talus without catching on fire. Similar upgrades for every armor set.

i’m sure others have mentioned this, but you can get some familiar clothing with the dlc you have! the side quests for them should already be in your adventure log. some of the gear is really op (guiding you to korok seed locations, disguising you from basic mobs, etc) and some are general skill upgrades, and one set is from your favorite “fairy” - kooloo limpah!

@@LeSethX You have your islands mixed up. Eventide Island, the one that takes away your gear, doesn't have any armor in the shrine. The shirt part of the climbing gear set (not the pants) is in the Major Test of Strength on the much smaller Tenoko Island off to the north of Eventide, which is visible from quite far away.

for stamina recipes what i do is use a endura carrot. anything that gives bonus stamina will also fully fill your stamina wheels. also the drillshaft is the best to use for rocksmashing it has the most durability.

A little tips for korok seeds, if you see a weird hole in the ground or in this case a pond of water in the middle of nowhere like at 27:22 it's probably a korok seed. Especially in a slope, climb up the slope and you should find a pushable rock :) The idea is to get the rock to roll in the hole or here in the water! (Also for the one with the time limit you always have a leaf as an arrow showing you where to look along with the trail)

A Tip for the Greedy Hill Shrine, once you get to the top you can go back down to collect all the jewels you missed. The falling obstacles don't reset.

The Korok Forest is probably the most magical place in the whole game. Swirling mist, lights, extremely big old trees and above all the enchanting music makes it everything that you could expect from a fantasy game forest. And although the mists can trick you and there are some dangerous creatures in there, you have a lingering feeling that the forest is not hostile, it just wants to be left in peace.

I had to look it up on my playthru, as they are not intuitive. I think you have an archer challenge from the lady who sells arrows; have to follow the girl outside the clothing shop home at night (creepy); and then the real challenge finally appears.

When you encounter an igneo talus, you can also shoot ice arrows at him until he cools off!! Then you can climb him without taking damage :3 you kicked his ass regardless, just figured I'd mention it cause it can save you some meals if there are some you want to preserve :3 Loving this playthrough Gab, I hope it's less frustrating for you this time around!! A few tips! 1. Elemental enemies are weak to opposing elements. Use this to your advantage. 2. Take pictures of EVERYTHING that is collectable. Animals, weapons, food, gems and ore stones, insects, etc. You can use the sensor for finding things besides shrines. 3. Focus on finding the fairy fountains and getting all the towers activated that you can. (Stock up on stamina-increasing food for this. You'll need it.) 4. You don't have to complete every shrine when you come across it. You can use it as a teleport point even without beating the shrine, so feel free to just activate the ones that are tests of strength if you don't feel up to doing that trial at the time. 5. Find Robbie!

Two tips for ya today gab!^^ 1) Elemental weakness is a big help! Fire vs Ice enemies instantly defeats them. Ice vs Fire the same. (arrows work!) 2)Drillshaft is like a Hammer+. They're very hard to come by in game and make defeating Talus enemies very easy. Plus, they're great to farm minerals with. Remember: Luminous Stone is worth 70 rupees a piece!

56:16 Soo fun fact.. The symbols that "drip" down onto your slate, are actual letters. There is an alphabet of those. Translated that 'text' says "Master using it, and you can have this" (which is a reference to the first game when you pick up the upgraded sword). This text is all over the game and can be translated.

Be sure to look out for the other 3 fairy fountains, the one by kakariko can only upgrade your armour a couple levels so to get really high defense you'll need the others. There is one in Akkala a bit north of the tower there - it is also near Tarrey Town (which I highly recommend doing the quest there). Edit: There is also a horse goddess that you can find that can revive dead horses should you ever need it :)

Back at Zora's Domain there is someone who looks like they are working on rebuilding the main structure. They will trade 10 luminous stones for a diamond. There is always lots of luminous stones to find so it's an easy way to farm diamond.

Look out, it's a scam! After the first time, only do this if you really need diamonds specifically. A single diamond sells for 500 rupees, but 10 luminous stones sell for 700. (Edit: I checked and they sell for even more than I thought.)

I recall this game so clearly that I'm not even sure I'm watching the same game. I actually Googled it, and even at this point I'm not sure where it's going. Now, this could be bad observation/recall on my part. Or maybe poor observational skills at the time. But I strongly suspect it's more likely wonderful story-telling and gameplay that just gives you an 'in the now' experience. Gab seems to forget key things too; but rarely the same ones as I do. It's just a cleverly constructed, re-livable adventure. It's linear, in an almost nonlinear way. So much loving watching this played again, by someone else. (Doesn't hurt that it's cute Gab.)

To fight the Guardian Stalker (The one that moves with legs), I usually ride a horse and rush towards it. When I get near to it, jump off from the horse and use bullet time, shot its eye once. Then it will stun. Once Link lands, use a high damage weapon (1-hand or 2-hand) and chop its legs. Every leg lost will stun it again. Once Link chop off all its legs, then use the same method as fighting the decayed Guardian.

At 38:47 the game is trying to teach you something. What happens when you throw rusty weapons at the rock octorock and it sucks them up? Secret.... Nice choice getting the stealth set. All the wildlife that'd normally take off before you get in range (bugs, fish) you pretty much run up to now without crouching. Not to mention it makes you near invisible when you do crouch. So useful, if a little low on defense.

My early game right after leaving Great Plateau is to go to Faron Tower and Bronas Forest (bring some food to gain stamina to climb the tower), where you can find a lots of Hearty Durians. Cook 5 Hearty Durians gives you full recovery (3 hearts) and 20 extra hearts. Cook as many dishes as you can then start your journey. When you gain the spirit orbs, trade them for Stamina until you get max stamina. That makes your journey much easier. Once you finish all dishes then teleport back to Faron tower and get Hearty Durians again.

Great, loving these vids but allow me to add to previous comments about using bombs more for easier enemies to save your weapons...also find the fairy near the Akkala shrine and level up your armour more...lastly, please take pics of everything pertinent to the compendium as you have already missed the first boss at least! Keep up the good work though and glad you're enjoying this playthrough better than originally.

TIP: the amiibos (apart from wolf link & epona) only have a *chance* of dropping the tunics or other more interesting items. i remember last time i played, having to save before using them and just sit there and reload until it finally dropped the cool stuff... that was very un-fun though, so using them all once per play session/day is probably a more sane approach lol

Just like how guardian weapons are best to use on guardians, using the opposite elements on creatures defeats them faster. Like using an ice arrow on the fire breathing lizalfos.

I'm not trying to upstage you by restating more or less the same information here... Yup; The Guardians and Guardian weapons are made from the same material and time zone! Yeah, the opposite elements do a good job on taking elements of the opposite element!

My favorite recipe/food tip - when you get to the jungle area, there's a spot super close to the tower where you can get tons of durians, which are amazing for bonus heart recipes! I constantly go back there to stock up after they regen. It's guarded by some pretty low level enemies (three lizafos I think?) and has a few korok puzzles, but I just go and bomb the trees and come away with tons of durians.

If you're looking for good farming spots, the best place I've found to farm arrows is along the road to Zora's Domain. Tons of low-level Lizalfos respawn there every blood moon, and they each drop at least one, often two, bundles of arrows.

Since I'm a terrible fighter I rely on durian farming for the extra hearts and getting the mighty bananas for attack power meals. On a blood moon 3 hearty radishes and 2 durians can get you 24 hearts.

Gab quick tip if you shoot an element Talus with its opposite element ie hitting a Igneous Talus with anything ice will removes its heat effect and make it safe to climb. Thanks for the video

Can't you stasis enemies after getting an upgrade to the Stasis Rune? (It's been awhile since I've played BoTW; That was the first game I had played on my Nintendo Switch...)

Korok forest was the only consistent area I ran into frame rate issues when I played the game, so I find it interesting you ran into them before getting there.

Hey Gab, on one of the peaks in the Eldin/Goron region, there was a glowy spot, that's one of the memories! They're pretty random in the world but check out the pictures in the Sheikah Slate, those are clues to where they are. Getting all the memories adds more to the story so I hope you check them out!

Ice arrows or other ice weapons can be used to put out the fire effect on the fire Talus. You'll encounter ice Talus in the icy mountains and fire arrows will have the same effect. You can also use elemental weapons to heat/cool yourself in hot or cold areas of the map. So if you equip an ice weapon in the desert it will cool you equal to one level of resistance.

fun thing about the elemental weapons. flame breaker will keep you warm in cold areas. frost blade will keep you cooler in hot areas. still not as good as full armor set, but a little bit of help if you don't have a full set.

I found the best and safest way to fight Lynels is to ride a horse. Get close to it. Then jump off from the horse and use bullet time with bow in the air. Give it head shots before Link lands. While it is stunned, go back to the horse then wait until it recovers and shakes its head. Then do the next round of bullet time shots.

To fight the Guardian Skywatcher (The one that flies), you have to use Ancient arrow. Jump off from a higher place and use bullet time. If you shot its eye at the bottom, with Ancient arrow you should finish it with one shot. Use Ancient Bow will give best result (because of its long range). Hope these tips help.

A few things! Igneou talos rock creatures hate ice arrows. Also do not climb on Frost talos in future. Don't forget to turn in luminous stones for dimonds. (13 red hearts for master sword)
