Dang Jackie, I know you are the bumper destroyer, but wow! Least it was into the tires and not a concrete wall. Always something causing bug a boos and problems. Fiona, way to go!!! 5 second drop in time! Best looking driver out there. Hope to see you both at Road Atlanta.
@ajhartmanaero5 жыл бұрын
Glad you mentioned the outwash of the bumper. The indent itself make practically zero downforce since high pressure in that cavity also pushes up on the top of that indent. But the outwash it creates allows the splitter to work a little harder, and hence the downforce gain. Good stuff as always!
@JackieDing865 жыл бұрын
That makes sense, at least what I postulated is 50% correct hahaha, thanks for giving some proper knowledge to this topic
@ajhartmanaero5 жыл бұрын
@@JackieDing86 You are welcome. Also, not sure if you mentioned it in the video or figured it out but that fluttering noise... did you ever figure it out? Is that what caused you to go off? Since it happened with speed I'm wondering if the splitter came loose and was "porpousing" (flopping up and down) and you just had no grip in the brake zone?
@JackieDing865 жыл бұрын
You are exactly correct. One of the two splitter dampers at the front came loose mid-session. I’d still say I braked too late for T2, but the flapping splitter didn’t help. I’ll explain in a later video in detail, but you obviously figured it out ha

Was sorry to see you crash man. Glad you are okay, the S2000 will come back better than ever! Fiona did very well, I was a couple cars behind her one session. I know most everyone doesn't care for it but i had fun in my EcoBoost Mustang in the Street RWD class. I was able to take that car and its currently terrible .80 power to weight ratio from a 1:48 in session 1 to a 1:41 in session 5. Session 6 was wasted in traffic and session 7 I could only get 1:42s.. Watching your videos had helped prepare me for the event, thanks man.

Jackie, for hoses that flow air or coolant you need to use aluminum hose clamps that are not worm style. Phase 2 Motorstrend has some killer ones that would be a perfect fix for your problem "P2M hose clamps" Maybe if you add some aero-tape to the bumper+splitter to seal it you can get a little more aero too

Great driving, solid lines! Love your vids! I saw that you mention mid range torque lol that s2k is like my 600cc r6 I race. You don't need torque, just keep it revving sweeping those corners! mind you I'm at 7-16k rpm!! Could work on smoother transition from braking , downshifting and attacking the corner. You're going in a tad hot without letting the chassis settle? Cheers! Smooth is fast! Glad you're safe. You'll fix it up in no time! Imagine breaking bones and flipping over highsiding on two wheels 😡 that sucks....

Do you run an oil cooler? Also grab some t-bolt clamps to help prevent the hose(s) from popping off under boost. Worm style clamps aren’t as durable (as you have experienced) and are prone to failure. If you know the size let me know. I should have some spares laying around that I can send you.

FYI, your radiator and supercharger heat exchanger aren't getting optimal airflow without a heat shield between the bumper and the radiator support. Instead of air being forced through the radiator, some of it is escaping above it and into the engine bay.

Owning a S2K myself, I really enjoy watching your videos because you push to improve each time and as a result, we all learn. Having said that, you have lost ABS more than once so could you mention what the source of the problem was in your next video?
