After many recommendations, we rode off for the very first time to Orford- tucked away by itself on the east coast of England.

Come from Cambridge originally, now 32 years in Amsterdam. Love riding my Speed Twin around here, but miss the country lanes back home! Get to Orford every year, and once got hold of the keys to Orford Ness lighthouse for a visit, before it disappeared into the sea. Used to go night fishing on the “ ness” as a kid with my dad.For good food, Butley Oysterage ! Discovered your channel recently, and because of your review of the ST on Tenerife( where I met my Dutch wife 35 years ago❤️🙏) I bought one, so thanks for your great, honest, funny and fantastic content, both of you, and don’t change a thing… we love it Paul Narracott, (but using wife’sYT account !!)

I love watching these old English towns and pubs you visit. I live in Norway and currently surrounded by ice and snow and the only bike activity I do now is using the battery tender from time to time 😅. The seat going back is a good thing as I think black was a better look for the Bonneville.

Great video Freddie! Love that you take us off on a little tour of the church! You are so right, if only we look around more and see these buildings that have so much history to them. Just want to echo Lynns comment. I like how you make your channel more than just the motorcycles. The activities you can enjoy riding is often overlooked and I like how Freddie and Monica act as a team bringing us along on their adventures. I rode my Moto Guzzi V7 to Orford, to see the castle last year. Unfortunately, it was under construction and completely wrapped up with scaffolding. That area is stunning. Thanks Again Guys...

I had an American friend over and showing the around London. We got to the Tower of London and told them that the oldest part of the Tower was the White Tower built by the Norman's a 1000 years ago. They then asked about a small piece of wall opposite the Tower and was that a 1000yrs old but I had to explain that was a piece of the Londinium boundary wall, built by the Romans and was 2000yrs old.

Love your videos but the opening of this one made me blink! Chillisford St Peter's is one of my favourite places on Planet Earth. The grass 'car park' is also used as a motorhome and caravan site and we use it regularly with our little mo-home. You have to be a member of the club to book it and they won't take more than five outfits at a time; but we've been there in the middle of Summer and been the only visitors for a whole fortnight. The Ness of Orford Ness is really interesting and worth the short boat trip to get there, if you like secret, mysterious military places. Nice one and great choice with The Jolly Sailor!

For the "Jolly Sailor" category number 4, balletic tendencies, I believe the word you didn't know is "entrechat," which is a French term in ballet for jumping into the air and "beating" the legs (crossing them). Most often performed is an "entrechat quatre" (beating back and front twice, landing with the same foot in front as on takeoff) and "entrechat six" (beating back and front three times, landing with the opposite foot in front as on takeoff). The word probably comes from the Italian "intrecciare" meaning “to weave,” or “to braid." Famous English ballet dancer Wayne Sleep once performed an entrechat douze (beating the legs back and front SIX TIMES before landing).

Great video as always, Freddie and Monika. Hope you went down to the waterfront? It is the best bit of Orford in my biased view, we sailed from there for several seasons, beautiful river, with tricky entrance and you can go all the way to Snape. Take Monika on the Lady Flo cruise from the quayside, and have lunch as your explore the river. Also we love the Chillesford church, and that new stained glass window. Next time you are looking for somewhere off the beaten track in Suffolk, head to Ramsholt on the River Deben, has one of the rare "round" or in fact oval church towers. Also good riverside pub - The Ramsholt Arms. Cheers Malcolm

Although it seems sleepy today the Norfolk, Suffolk. Essex area was really happening from dark ages through medieval to early modern period. Partly because it's close to the Low Countries and France and partly because it's got the richest agricultural land in the UK. That's why there's so much history and it's all still there because the area largely missed out on the industrial revolution. Class dismissed!

@@evoermine Everywhere had a much lower population density so it's not really a defining factor. Norwich - for example - was second only to London in wealth and importance during the medieval period. Hard to believe today, but myriad connections to the continent, abundant two-way trade & agricultural wealth made the area one of the more cosmopolitan parts of the UK.

Great video, great scenery! Regarding the helmets, my thoughts are that if someone would want so steal a helmet for their own use, they wouldn't snip the straps because this would render the helmet more or less useless. So if somebody goes around and snips off the straps that person is a vandal and it's much harder to protect against that then it is to protect against theft...

So many hidden gems in Suffolk… I’m off there tomorrow to a small village (Cratfield) to see a good friend. Well worth a potter out that way with Framlingham not too far from there. Good luck at the Crazy Horse saloon and btw Freddie….your brake fluid reservoir looked pretty low! Top it up and ride safely you two 💪

Lovely film Freddie and Monika...felt like you were in a different era. What a fab place to visit. Glad Monika is getting kitted out...but we need proof of course!! Cheers, Steve

@@FreddieDobbs Well if you want to head down South the Cafe Racer at Shoreham is cool for clothing, and Flat out Coffee nearby is nice. And of course Motolegends near Guildford. Cheers, Steve

Love it. the church wouldn't last five minutes here. It would be stripped down to the concrete and plastered with not good graffiti. This was a great visit now get Monika her gear.👢🧤💍

Where I used to live this’d be exactly the same- it’d be stripped down to the shell. I’m on the case with Monika’s gear🙂

You two are proper bikers, out in the British winter. Referring to a rear luggage rack as a creature comfort 😂😂👍👍

Brave out in winter without a screen mate! My FJR 1300 I just press a button to adjust the screen to suit conditions. Jealous?😂

We all used to ride our road bikes down tracks without a second thought, as you have just done. I would bet many owners of expensive 300kg lumps would not even ride down your track. Strange. Bikes should equal freedom. Less is often more. Light is right. Just my opinion.. Safe, happy travels 👍

300 mile trip for us and over 5 hours. You should have gone down to the quay and taken a boat ride over the river Alde and checked out the Atomic Weapons Research Establishment on Orfordness. Steeped in history down there and a great place to visit 👍

I suggested it! You should read the book if you don’t wanna wait for the other seasons 😎
