Looks like the perfect trip, not just the ride but the ethos behind too. “We’re heading somewhere there and we’ll get there at some point heading somewhere in that direction”. I feel that’s all the planning that’s needed - beautiful!!

Remind me of the mountain bikes we had in the late 80's. No suspension, road geometry, 2.1" tires, "bullhorn" bars. And gravel roads and fire trails. Simpler times... Looks like so much fun, guys!

A big take away is that they only went out for a few days! I work six days a week for now but my day off is always an adventure. You don't need a month. Me and my girlfriend sit on our day off and say which direction today north south or east? We live in California so can't go further west.

Space. No reason to protect it from the dirt. Therefore you can use the space of the bags for the very important stuff.....

If you want a more guided tour, there is a orbit 360 route from Stuttgart to the outer parts of the black forest and back. They had some very spectacular downhill sections but also many beautiful point of interests. Was one of the most epic (2 day) rides with some friends. But beware: In Baden Württemberg it is forbidden to drive small trails in the forests because of nature protection.

Congrats Mas Bros. When can you spend your time to pedal your bike to The Special Territory of Yogyakarta, Indonesia? There you can find single tracks and gravel roads in the middle of Snakeskin fruit plantations on the Southern slope of Mt. Merapi. Besides, you can sometimes notice hot lava and pyroclastic clouds spewed up from its crater on top of it. . . . .
