Oh don't worry he's gunna have to REAALLY fight to get to Blue science. Have to really manage those first 2 waves with exact mining and fuel chamber management from what I've seen.

Thats been my experience too. Blue Science is easy enough to have and is necessary to get early, but expansion with a mall is no easy task to defend with the constant waves. Setting up auto ammo is priority 1 and constant turrent crafting is number 2, combined with wind turbines to power the whole thing. @@HelicopterShark

You know it would be interesting to add battlefield analysis towers to the planetary blueprint. Set it up so each one can build the next one in the chain and the whole blueprint just builds itself.

A self assembling world blueprint sounds amazing. And if you integrate them well they also help build the later blueprints. Just need to watch out for ore patches and oceans breaking up the blueprint

@@absolutehuman951 I'm suprised there isn't really a good way to fully foundation an entire planet other than manually placing it. Without such foundation blueprints you also can not make indication tiles on where to place ILS or PLS on the zones for optimal spacing.

I've been doing that. 10% resources and higher than normal (not max) fog. I got all the way to ILS and even crafted a gas giant collector before leaving the starting planet. It's been fun. The trick is prioritizing those laser towers Nilaus has been ignoring. 😂

Contracts on making it that far, I curious on your settings, as Max Diff seems like your entire time in the first hour of play is barely surviving, I've been trying to find a good balance on settings to have a well balance game, were the Dark Fog is a challenge but not having combat every 30 secs with 3 waves. @@circuitguy9750

@@circuitguy9750 the good part with laser turrets is, it eats a lot of energy, making the fog even angrier and if you use only renewable sources, for all intents and purposes it's free energy.

Would love a max fog play through. I think it would still become trivial once your tech is high enough so please don't skip through the early game where it will be the most challenging.

Max difficulty is pretty rough in the beginning, but super satisfying once you get stable. It doesnt have to be full max settings, but on normal you can pretty much forget they exist.

If by stable you mean managing ammo supply for a every growing number of turrets, with extremely slow expansion.

@@joshuarogalsky8379 They stop growing once the waves hit 180, so if you can hold out until then, you will be able to overtake the starting planet. Then, after you've earned your base, you can start on the conquest for Universal Domination!

Maximum Settings Challenge is .... rough! Watched JD do that stuff yesterday. It wasnt fun imho. First 7-8 hours are more or less just pushing turrets and ammo ... edit: first 3 hours or so were just handcrafting and handmining ... as you dont want to disturb the hives too early ...

Your game is noticeably easier than if you had started on high DF levels. So watching your designs get forged in a hotter fire might be fun, if you are up for it ;-) I would be especially interested how you might assault a planet with a lot of higher level nests, since that is the problem I am presently engaged with... ;-)

Is it? I started on max difficulty and found it pretty easy to turtle up to green science without leaving home system. In fact only had to set up a titanium and silicon outpost and home planet resources was enough. I knew I should have started at 0.5x or leaner. :(

I was a bit slow at the beginning and now the other planets in my home system are too infested for me to clear, at least with low level ammo. Fortunately I was able to find a planet in a nearby system with a single nest and the exact minerals I don't have. So I expect I too will be getting to green science and beyond. It would still be nice to see how Nilaus would clear 20 bases off a planet throwing out 180 ships each though - he is the tutorial after all ;-) @@leighrobinson

One tip i just started doing is make a box and a prolifirator connected to another box and just throw anything in it that you are going to manually use. like the pick ups from the dark fog if you proliferate the energy shards the t2 one turns it into 75% self replicator speed .

Based on your final question. I'd say do whatever is most fun for you to play. I will watch, no worries :) Also, what I found is that if you want to harvest their camps, the space base of the fog will get large. Like really really big. I was getting a lot of good materials, went up and I was shocked how much their space base was grown. It was gigantic. hahah. Haven't dealt with that yet. I will first do your methode and starve them a bit more before I try an attempt in attacking the space base :) Also, which I found weird. One of their planet bases became level 13. But all of a sudden it became dark. All buildings were still intact, but they were not creating units anymore. Also their lasers didn't work anymore. Seemed like it was out of matter, which was weird since it was very active (resulting in a lot of good materials.) Also part two. The space base gets bigger when harvesting them. Not only in your current system but across all systems. So is it worth? I'm leaning towards not. Although the materials lvl 9 and beyond are super helpfull in the beginning. But one will be facing with a much greater strength to defend.

tip- when using pumps for both water and acid, once the pump is placed you can foundation over the lake and the pumps still work. so place pumps put a row of conveyor behind them, foundation to the conveyor edge and do another row of pumps, allows alot more pumps in one area to maximise output

Max fog here too, as currently "liberating" a planer or even a conplete solar system is basically a solved problem with signal towers.

I'd love to see a max difficulty min resources challenge. I recently started playing with max combat infinite resources myself and it was a bit of a slog but got some interesting stuff out of it in the end. It would be nice to see someone of your skill caliber and production quality take on the hardest DSP can be to see some good strategies there! My small advice on getting started - handcraft a lot of the early stuff and research without building anything to generate minimum threat before you can get defences set up ;).
