Awe struck! My preference is the photo w/o the stairs. Love the mossy paths with the gnarly bare Mountain Laurels! Beautiful!

I love the mountains and I can’t say enough about how the photos and videos transport me there when I physically cannot get there. Truly grateful for this.

Great vid again guys! As for the 2 images I'd say the one with the stairs is a bit busy I like the simplicity of the falls by itself. The fog at the top was banger forsure.

Thanks a lot for the feedback! Yes the fog really added a lot to the scene.

A few things: 1) You two must've hit these places on a weekday, else they would've been full of people. 2) I love how you both are able to take pictures of the "mundane" and make them interesting. Though you're right about the larger tree unbalancing the image with the gnarled trunk, it's easy to see what you had in mind. I always miss those opportunities because I seem to be looking for "wow shots". 3) Lower Helton Creek Falls has ALWAYS stymied me. 4) Your two shots of the lower falls were both good. Artistically, I think I preferred the one without the steps. However, the one with the steps was a great display of nature's path and man's path converging at the same location. If there were another way to frame that shot, I think it'd be superior... but, as is, the one without the steps looks better. 5) Thanks again for the engaging and interesting content!

Hey Curt great reply! And I agree that the lower falls are always a challenge. I was reasonably happy with what I got on this last trip but I still feel like there is more there to capture. I will try again, for sure! And it was a Friday...but the conditions were very cold so we had it all to ourselves!

I was just at Helton a few weeks ago for the 3rd or 4th time. I was there way too late with bad light. I didn’t even bother with the lower this time. I will go back again and try because like you, I know there is a good photograph there somewhere jus need to find it.

Yes that lower one is always a challenge! One of these days I will get a shot and know that I have finally captured something I really like. It is a challenge that keeps me wanting to come back again.
