One of the most kick ass synth bass lines ever created.

Fantastic! You play it perfect! Some positions in this wonderful bassline are very sophisticated. 80´s are best! In comparison today´s music sounds so simple.

so good! madonna had some kickass synth bass in her songs at that period. I think most of them were by Patrick Leonard who produced a lot of those songs, however he's not credited in this one. I still wonder who is the person that actually wrote all those bouncy synth basslines for Into the Groove, cherish, like a prayer, who's that girl...

Didn't Quincy Jones work on that album?

This was Steve Bray. Pat Leonard from True Blue onwards although he did musically direct and play keyboards on The Virgin tour in 1985 . He also did the original Baywatch theme bass for Peter Cetera from "Save Me" originally used for Season One on NBC. It sounds very similar to Like a Prayer and Express Yourself (original and local mix) even though the latter was Stephen Bray too.

@@musicmanic1979 Cool. I have the Sub 25 for the same reason; and I used the money saved (by not getting the Sub 37, I mean) to get an Alpha Juno 2 and one of my drum machines (I think the DrumTraks at the time)! Btw, original bass line was an Roland MKS-80, aka the “Super Jupiter”. Peace Edit: Also, “papa don’t preach” is another good bass part if you live never tried it. Not as intricate as this one, but fun to play as well.
