The wolf fish is also called "guabin" (pronounced wah-been) in our country. Aside from fishing with fresh bait, it can also be caught by casting lures. Tastes good. Just a million bones to deal with ! Trinidad & Tobago. West Indies.

Yes we call it pataka here. I have caught them also with lures but we didn’t expect to go at the second spot or i definitely would have brought some lures.

Alle zwampvis soorten zoals krobia, kwi kwi etc. Maar we hadden geen pieren om ze te vangen

These are not wolf fish. They are Houri which you catch in the side lines or trenches in the the Cane fields. Wolf fish feeds by night and the head is shorter and don't have a thousand bones. I catch them every year in the Rivers of Guyana and the Amazon. Sorry guys but I love the fish and hunt. I don't know where you fish but I saw some photos of men fishing in Surinam and caught some real big ones., These are babies to the Anjuman or Wolf fish.

We were unlucky to catch the big ones. a week before the other guy caught some good sizes at the first place. houri which we know as pataka is also a wolffish type. same as golden wolffish, red wolffish and the wel know anjumara
