@@battosaijenkins946 What do you think happen if engine stop? Fly is more secure than drive a car. Your engine stop middle of hiway in a car, you are in real danger. When engine stop in a airplane you dont fall like a stone, you continue gliding for to land in a safe place. Belt is for if you have heavy landing but also for heavy air turbulens that can shake around the plane. Wind pressure all doors and windows and even more if plane are not controlled by the pilot, impossible to open up anything for to jump. Safest is to stay onboard and take the plane down..

Wow, I was a commercial pilot, CFII 28 years ago and I'm just starting to get back into aviation. A lot has changed from a technical standpoint! When I flew SEL is was all analog instruments, paper charts and approach plates and hand flying. Looking forward to flying in the 21st century. Thank you for the video. I used to fly out of PIE in the 80's. :) Love that aircraft.

There are two times that I have always enjoyed.1. Crisp fall days after the NC humidity has cleared out and there is severe clear and bright blue sky. 2. Summer evenings just at twilight when the ground lights are just coming on. I'm 68 now and no longer fly PIC but to be fortunate enough to enjoy one of those situations in an airplane is still a highlight.

Night flights and (usually) nighttime airport terminals are so soothing & relaxing. I love the ambiance of both. Morning flights are the diametric opposite: Draining, exhausting, enervating. Night flights are restful; morning flights, no matter how rested you were before feel like jet lag + hangover.

The view out the windows of all the lights along with the really cool lit up cockpit gauges looks so COOL. When you dimmed the panel lights looks so cool! One of the best flights I have ever had was during my Commercial Pilot training out of Sanford, FL. Was high enough to see both the Atlantic and Gulf Coasts as the sun started to illuminate the Horizon, and watching the Shuttle Columbia launch (sadly) on its last flight. Images I will never forget. Florida can be a magical place to fly. Morning and Evening is my favorite time to fly.

I remember my very first solo traffic patterns on a DA 20 in Hungary, LHSM...Then my first cross country flying, the last leg into Salzburg Intl. Excellent night flying instructional video. I'd fly with Steve anytime. He's always right on and stays ahead of the plane. Landing in the Miami area is a nightmare day or night. Besides the language problems at Miami Int. it gets so hectic it's easy to miss an instruction from the controllers. Smooth and cool gets it done.

Day verses night, I love them both. I've spent plenty of night time over NYC out of Farmingdale to JFK then a dog leg to the south. At my age though, I have to remember to keep my trifocals available for night instrument flight (keep a set in the glove box). Thanks for sharing this video.

Private, IFR, Comm, Multi Comm (probably about 60k). I personally would skip the high priced schools. Find a local school with good pricing and an instructor you click with, then live at home to save money and stay committed. It is a lot of work to do it fast, but it can be done. Do the written tests early on in each phase of flying. It's best to just get it out of the way and concentrate on the flying. After you get all that done, then fly pipeline or something for the next 250-300 hours to get you to 135 SIC mins, then start looking at charter outfits to get some 135 time. Network, network network. Corporate flying is all about who you know. You'll get other people work and they will get you work. Live below your means because corporate jobs come and go and you'll need cash to get over the humps...The market is awesome right now, but just 10 years ago it was a blood bath...Airlines have more stability and the top end pay better, but they typically require a 4 year degree (some are hiring without them right now, but don't count on it), and it's a JOB. Corporate can be either way, a grind, or sitting for a week in the Caribbean while you get paid. It really depends on what type of lifestyle you want to live.

Wow! What a thrill to watch a master at his craft! Many years ago, I washed out of commercial multiengine training due to a severe problem with red/green colour vision. As a retired person, I now scratch the itch by building and flying radio controlled aircraft and flying a desk through flight simulators. I found it so rewarding to hear your commentary and be able to connect with my simple understanding of real world flight. I'm not gay, but yes, you did romance me as to your sunset comment. I'm always amazed at how you guys receive, process, and re-transmit a response to ATC. I never got comfortable to that point. What a well done video! Personally, I think the urge to fly is some sort of a disease that has to be addressed in some manner. You have given me another means to that end. Thank you very much. Fly high.... land soft.

Like you, I really enjoy night flying. Most generally the air is calm, controllers are more cordial to you, and it is actually much easier to see other traffic. Most of my night flying was done between Cleveland, Detroit, Chicago, Iowa, North Carolina, South Carolina, Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. Many of the controllers, especially on my Cleveland to Chicago routine flights, became familiar with my ID (Rockwell Commander N115CP) and became almost like personal friends.

Very nice! I mostly fly in the daytime but love flying at night when I can. My most recent night flights was coming home from Oshkosh taking the scenic way home. Landed 83D (St. Ignace, MI); KFNT (Flint, MI); KBNA (Nashville, TN). Then on our last flying trip this past summer en-route to FL we landed at night coming into KHSA (Stennis, MS) in the Gulfport, MS area. WOW. The light show we got crossing the Mississippi river just south of Baton Rouge and then again just north or New Orleans.....unforgettable! The folks at Million Air FBO at Stennis were awesome. We had a late arrival and Hertz wouldn't deliver our rental car so they let me take their crew car over night!!! It was a Mercedes E-class!! Thanks for sharing this night flight SteveO.

The flying I do, I much prefer at night. Up high during the day most of the time it's too hazy to see much of the ground. But at night a whole different world opens up with the most amazing views of the heavens that anyone could imagine. Cities below look like you're flying over the Death Star with the Milky Way and constellations above you, and the odd meteor. Love night flights.

Used to love taking off an hr. or two before dark, as you said the air is usually smoother, and calm even if it's been a rough weather day, and less traffic normally. Funny because a frequent co-pilot of mine used to grump about the later take offs, but I loved them! Please take us along at night again..but don't turn the lighting up like you did, that took away a lot of the outside view(realize it was mostly dark) and seemed uncomfortable, as I used to really turn it down at night, and let the displays provide most of the light.

I think it depends on what you normally do to a degree when it comes to preferred time of day for flying. I always fly during the day, so a night flight is something rare and usually special. I also like flying during the golden hour. The scenery looks amazing! Flying at night is cool because you can see all the towns and the lights down on the ground, you can see a billion stars, and if you get lucky to see a thunderstorm in the distance it looks awesome!

Stupid question from an absolute rookie: Why do they say niner instead of nine?

Ur fine lol, when you are far away from atc comms become really hard to hear, that's why for example pilots say bravo instead of "b" because it could be misheard as "c", "d", "e", etc. Nine kinda sound like five, so for redundancy pilots say niner

here’s the alphabet for ATC: Alfa, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, Echo, Foxtrot, Golf, Hotel, India, Juliett, Kilo, Lima, Mike, November, Oscar, Papa, Quebec, Romeo, Sierra, Tango, Uniform, Victor, Whiskey, X-ray, Yankee, Zulu. it can be a bit difficult to remember them but what i did is make a Quizlet to engrave it in my brain and it worked really well.
