The biggest defect of this design is no shocks on the rear. Shocks make a huge difference with comfort and traction. I ride mototrials in competition. One of the biggest differences of the new motorcycles and models 20 years ago is the shocks. As shocks improved so did the bikes ability to climb.

Hi from Southeast Iowa USA. I've had the Scout for two years now and have had a lot of fun. After two months, I had carburetor problems, but the company sent me a free new carburetor and I had to send them the old one back. Also, the air filter sat crooked on the carburetor, which had me concerned, as the back chain kicked up mud and debris onto the air-cleaner cover. I remedied that by making a snorkel using radiator hose from a truck and put an air-cleaner on top of the snorkel. The air cleaner is a new breather for large engine for valve covers. It took some minor engineering, but a do-it-youselfer could figure it out. The service was excellent with the company. So even at 64, I'm still off-road and having fun. C-ya p.s. The Scout has no front suspension. I chose that model for less chain maintenance.

@nacholibre19625 жыл бұрын
I've been looking at these for years here in Canada. They are very interesting and definitely have some application, although it's very muc a niche market. Some models allow for power equipment and even compressors to be run from the bike. Also, some come with hollow wheels that can accept fuel or water. The wheels, when empty, allow the bike to be "floated" for deep river crossings. The Israeli army use them for reconnaissance, to they can't be too bad. My ony beef with them is that for the money, you can get a decent quad/ATV and if you know how to ride one properly it will do more AND go faster than a ROKON. And if you know how to ride an ATV properly, steep slopes aren't an issue (including traverses), or you just pick a different line of approach. The one thing I like about the ROKON better than a quad is that they are far more portable. Where a quad will take up all or most of the room in your truck bed or on a trailer, the ROKON can sit sideays on a tow hitch carrier. Good piece of kit but it would be a second consideration after a quad if I had that kind of disposable cash.
