I remember playing anomaly, fighting my way tooth and nail through Monolith on the way through radar, intending to turn off the scorcher. Some poor fuck with a Nomad suit and an RPK with maybe a magazine or two of 5.45 AP. I dome one monolithian with my rifle, and start to walk up the road- “connection lost” transmits through my PDA. The earth begins to rumble. I pop a capsule of anabiotics cause there’s no way I’m nabbing cover and wake up to a fucking PSI storm.

I have to say that my favourite blowouts are the ones in call of prypiat, they look like something wich is a part of the environment and they are not just scripted and I love that. I have only experience the same lvl of fear only in subnautica when you run out of batteries on your aubmarine at really high depths, or in the game mad max when a storm appeared from the nothing and you don't have your car close to you. The only thing I only add (maybe for stalker 2) it's to get inside a abandoned closed vehicle like a BTR or a T 72 because those machine hulls should work (as they work in reality) like a faraday Cage saving your character, I remember this because on blowout happened to me in that Bridges filled with abandoned BTR 70 and I had no place to hide. Train cabs (thr engine room) should work properly also.

I am trying to figure out how reactor 4 exploded again. And what I am getting thus far is that this "C conciousness" created the first emission and thus made reactor 4 explode again?

No, reactor 4 didn't explode again. At least not as far as I know. As he explains in the video: what happened was Common Consciousness (C-Consciousness) tried to access the noosphere, which is this hypothetical sphere of thought enveloping Earth, in an attempt to manipulate it so they could remove emotions like greed, malice etc. from humanity. However as soon as they tried to affect the noosphere directly they instead created a rift or a ripple in it, which in turn caused the first emission which spawned the Zone. Since the Zone or rather the rift in the noosphere is expanding with each emission the CC basically unintentionally caused a slow moving apocalypse. Talk about being slapped in the face by hubris. The link to the Chernobyl NPP simply lies in that's where the secret facilities housing the CC and the generators which channel the excess psy energy build up which, when it reaches a certain limit, is discharged as an emission. I guess you could say all the psy energy in the Zone and in the emissions are a result of the noosphere essentially "leaking" through this rift, and the epicenter of this rift is at the NPP.

I was thinking that perhaps because the emissions are more frequent, and probably just the natural release of pent up energy from the noosphere, that a blowout as bad as the 2nd disaster would be unlikely following the loss of c-consciousness. Holding them back was like holding shut the floodgates of a crumbling dam, inevitably causing more damage because of instead of regularly venting a little pressure, it gets out of control and breaks free with great force.
