H​@@JaneThatcher89church is only an addition to your faith. It doesn't get you to heaven. Too many hypocrites in church! All you can really hope for is your personal beliefs since you are the one who has to answer. Stand up for what you believe in and don't let others persuade you to one side or the other. Many people are not going to like what I've said and that's okay with me. Don't start quoting scripture because everyone has their own soul.

@@Robert-ho1ie You are correct, there are hypocrites in the church, just like every single other place on Earth. Hypocrites at the grocery store, at the book club, at the bowling alley, in my classes… but that’s not going to stop me from going to those places. That has nothing to do with me and my journey with God. That’s their problem… and of all places for hypocrites to be, I’m glad they’re in church, so maybe God’s Word and his love will eventually penetrate their hearts. You are correct, church doesn’t get anyone to Heaven. However, it is a fact that God tells us not to forsake assembling together as believers, so I have no choice but to obey and know that it’s part of God’s best for me! BUT, it doesn’t have to be in a “church” building. The “church” is the body of believers, not a building. ANY time, ANY place we gather as believers, we are obeying this command. If you believe in the Bible, then scripture matters over our own feelings and theories… so I’m not sure why you’d tell me to not quote scripture regarding this topic. The original commenter obviously desires to be in church, as her comment alludes to, as she mentions she “can’t get to church anymore,” as in, she’s unable to get herself to church. That’s why I asked if someone can give her a ride…. because SHE desires to be in church… not because I’m pushing anything on her or judging her… or saying she MUST be in a certain building that humans call “church,” in order to be ok with God. Not at all.

It's a personal decision and I have no right to tell you what you what to do. I'm no Saint and either but I recognize that and I just try to do the best I can given the situation of a fallen world we are in! At least I know it's fallen and that's all that matters to me.
