How to Claim a Promise - Dr. Charles Stanley

In this message, Dr. Stanley discusses the "static" we feel in our spirits when we’re not in the will of God. Our entire belief system is based on the promises of God, and we can trust God to be faithful to keep them all. However, many people miss out because they neglect Him and don’t take hold of the promises God has made to His children.
When we have personal needs God has promised to fulfill, we should remember He will only do so when:
- The context of Scripture allows it.
- Fulfilling His promise honors Him.
- Fulfilling His promise is consistent with His immediate will for our lives.
- Fulfilling His promise is an encouragement to others.
- We willingly walk in obedience to His will.
Also, we can know He will fulfill a promise when:
- The Spirit of God confirms it.
- The peace of God prevails in our minds and spirits.
We ought to respond to the Lord with obedience, faith, and patience. Many people pray right prayers and ask for right things but make mistakes because they are unwilling to wait. God created time and is in control of it. All we must do is trust that He will bring about His plan for our lives in His time.

When I was in an abusive relationship I would listen to this great man's sermons on my way home from work. He is so smart and made me feel safe ,then when his sermon was over I would cry and I'd pray please don't stop , please don't end your sermon. I appreciate Charles' and other Christian's holy efforts, yet what I was getting at is that I have found that Charles understands many things of the Bible more so than several other human preachers I have heard. I don't like sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for someone to present some false teaching. Some of us study the Bible more so than others, but even if we were all reading the same page today, for example, it wouldn't necessarily mean we would all see it the same right away. The Holy Spirit reveals things to us whenever He sees fit, but we can surely do our parts, and as far as seeking goes, I seek Jesus' will. At any rate, Jesus paid the elects' hell forever sin debts.

Her home had an evil feel and one room she wanted to show me was thick with a presence ( this room was used as a study for her husband who wrote endless tarot books and held tarot classes there). I told her what i felt but she wouldnt have it.

Amazing and cistinct. A much watch...truth for life. ... the power is in the promises ! I knew that but now Dr Stanley reminds us that we must apply them believing a promise is not enough it doesn't make it happen if we don't apply it. Speak the word & know God's promises , know God personally so they apply to you, believe the promises, apply the promises as you walk in a life of purposeful obedience to God. write the promises in your heart so you have them handy when you need them so the holy spirit will bring them back to remembrance if we don't read them he can't bring them to our remembrance. Finally, share the promises! Thank you dr. Stanley I will share this with as many people as I can centered on Christ. believe it, and be in obedience not in purposeful and practicing sin. I know everything he saying is true because when I have not been obedient and tried to apply the promises I'd here in my heart how can I bless this area that you asked me to when you aren't being obedient to me in this one. I believe that was the Holy Spirit but you need to test it
