Why isn't the blood from the vein flowing through the tube hight to the bag??? I thought that fluids are supposed to travel from higher pressure to lower pressure (Bernoulli-Physics)..and the spot were we put the iv has higher pressure than the bag, as its lower than the bag and the tube has the same diameter all the way...

Venous pressure is fairly low anyway, and the site of entry is far below the bag.

there are also valves inside the veins that prevent backflow. never place a catheter into a varicose vein where valves don't fully close, that's illegal. The bag is also usually placed above the patient head which creates higher pressure in the bag than in the vein. Never place the bag below the catheter that's also illegal.
