Miss Universe 2005, the 54th Miss Universe pageant, was held on 31 May 31, 2005 at Impact Arena in Nonthaburi Province, Bangkok Metropolitan Region, Thailand. Natalie Glebova of Canada was crowned by Jennifer Hawkins of Australia as her successor at the end of the event. 81 contestants competed in this year.

@@gloryleeschelmetty3005 Scott Grossman left the pageant after 2007. He worked with the pageant since the late 80s as an assistant choreographer and didn't become head choreographer until 1995. He worked with them for almost 20 years. I guess, it was time for him to move on.

@Nadia tanjalog509 Totally agree! In the 2010s, they got rid of the opening dance number and focused on the girls introductions. With Scott Grossman, he brought something new to the table, without trying to be too modern or relevant.

@@Adeoca2 wrong info. Grossman didn't will fully left. He wasn't renewed by Trump because Paula Shugart did not like girls dancing in the opening numbers. Notice the changes when she took the presidency.

Im growing up watching this kind of Miss Universe! I still remember how BIG & GRAND the Miss Universe Production back then! For me 2005 still the best edition of Miss Universe in all time. Also the competition is so tough. I can name more than 10 girls who worthy of the mikimoto crown! Thanks Thailand for hosting the best pageant night!

Miss Universe is Miss Universe! It's really incomparable. That's why it remains on top of all pageants for the longest time. The productions, the stage, the energy and the beauty is truly universal. Watching this video makes me miss the glorious days where the Miss Universe was THE MISS UNIVERSE! I think that IMG should bring back Scott Grossmann, the choreographer which gave life to the pageant with his amazing intros, dances according to the country and that exquisite sense of glamour! IMG cannot allow that Miss World overshadow the pageant which moves waves of people around the world... because Miss Universe represents the Confidently Beautiful women with the glamour and elegance! Please IMG, bring back those aspects to the pageant and immediately our beloved Miss Universe will shine and rise like the brightest star in the Universe!

By now... IMG is a trashy organisation. The past edition was awful... at least the top 20 was decent. But many people miss the glorious days when MU was MU and IMG is just destroying a pageant which was relevant. Miss Universe deserves the glamour, expossure and relevance stolen by IMG along with FOX, Nick Teplitz and Steve Harvey... the ones who become this pageant into a coarse comedy. The MUO needs and requires someone with a good taste of elegance and glamour and subsequently, one who gives the relevance and expossure that a pageant such MU deserves...
