I grew up in Miami, FL listening to WEDR 99 Jams “The Quiet Storm” late night in the early 90s. The first time I heard this song in 1993 at the age of 12, it woke me up outta my sleep. I immediately wrote down the name of the song and group on a long list of songs I swore to buy one day when I got a job. As the years went by, I became more familiar with Intro and Kenny Greene specifically. The dude wrote many of the classics on Mary J. Blige’s “What’s the 411” album. A true master of the musical arts who died so early in life while he had so much more to offer us as fans of his music. RIP Kenny Greene, and thanks for the music you left behind.

Huge Stevie fan here, hearing this for the first time ever. What a voice this man had! The big risk of taking on Stevie's songs is that it is very hard to match Stevie's unfiltered passion and sincerity. That is what you see here, what Stevie was probably referring to in the opening clip. Does my heart good, because although most of Stevie's best work was done in the 70's, this song is a very special one.
