Great video. Lots of different ways to get a job done. I use an aircraft rivet gun and brass sets to drive on and off FSB and gas blocks. I've used it to drive in barrels with a sawed off slant brake to protect the crown and threads. Built lots of AK kits and don't own a press. Another thing I use alot is heating and cooling parts that are interference fit. If you put a barrel in the freezer over night and heat the trunnion, barrels usually slide right in. I spent part of my career as an airline sheetmetal mechanic so I'm used to doing things from a different perspective. Just some different ideas. What's the status of the milled Chinese build?

Sure, I prefer the press and the mods I've done to it specifically because I can control it and it was honestly cheaper than a high quality aircraft rivet gun, but I know plenty of A&P or sheetmetal guys that prefer their rivet guns and hand tools because they are proficient with those. Heating and cooling parts is also a trick I'm aware of. Guys have been doing that since the 90s when kits were stupid cheap and good receiver options were nonexistent or just completely unavailable in many cases. The milled Chinese build is taking a different direction, I was not comfortable using that ATM receiver because it seemed that heat treating was never done to it based on my file tests, and I do not have a means of professionally heat treating without the risk of shattering those locking lugs. Instead I opted for a Tortort Chinese receiver, and I'll be building my milled spiker using that.

@@provenancemachining I'm one of those guys that started in the 90's when kits cost 89.00. I hope you do some video's on the Tortort build.

@@flyguy30263 For sure, I have some great things coming down the pipeline for this channel, the Tortort build being one of them.
