I appreciate your overview of the series. Thanks Brian.

PROs: fast drying. shades, subtlety of coloration. Strong performance characteristics (water resistance, lubricity, easily washed out of pen barrels, etc.) CONs: over-priced. weak/poor saturation. Small volumes given for high-price (bottle is mostly glass rather than mostly ink - why?). Bottle is extremely poorly designed (difficult to empty out last 10 ml into any pen except snorkel-fillers). CONCLUSION: consider Pilot Iroshizuku or Sailor Jentle line-up of inks, if you desire premium inks. Standard Pelikan, Pilot, Waterman, Diamine inks are a good buy.

The onyx-black has a pretty good saturation.
@Tennishead216 жыл бұрын
It might be overpriced in the United States of America but in Europe, Edelstein is quite affordable ink.
@billmcyrus5 жыл бұрын
Smoky Quartz and Olivine are much better with saturation and seem to be interesting enough. Whether that justifies the price is entirely in the eye of the beholder.

I'm just starting to buy bottled ink moving on from cartridges. This was really helpful thx!

Oh!!! It's the first instance I've heard of you saying Write-On! I've seen it in your letters. That's one of the reasons why I'm watching all your videos from 2009 until now is to catch when certain things happen. Of course I'll skip the ones I've already seen like the tons of Q&A.

Different inks flow differently, and you're witnessing that here! I'm surprised to hear of such a drastic difference, but it's definitely possible.

I just bought the Aventurine Green. Excited!!

My first ever bottle of Edelstein arrived today. I also went with Aventurine. Looking forward to putting it to paper.

Edelstein Sapphire appears much more purple, at least to my eye. Royal Blue also writes very dry, and Sapphire isn't quite that way. They're definitely two different inks.

Wow, this is an older video, but then I haven't known you all for long. I have just inked my little Noodler's nib creaper with Pelikan Edelstein Amethyst and think it's a beautiful color. The ink writes beautifully on my Hobo Nichi calendar. I decided last evening I would include this ink in my next pen order and purchase a pen which displays the ink well in the barrel. So once I can get my passwords straight, I'll do just that. Hope to order soon! I'm having a winter slump. Take care guys and keep those shovels working during your lovely winter weather. Love ya! You know I do!! Well, I think I really love what you sell the most. I'm getting sappy now. Bye!

+Judith Meyer Hi there :) We're out of Pelikan Edelstein Amethyst right now but hope to get more before the 2016 ink of the year comes out! We're staying warm, but there's a lot of snow! -Margaret

One of the biggest reasons for bleed through would be the paper itself and how much it absorbs the ink, so it's really hard for me to say for sure how these inks would act. The Edelstein inks are better than most inks in terms of resisting bleed through, but you'd really be best off testing a sample of the ink on the paper you're using to be sure.

Just got the Aventurine and the colour is great but even though using a Pelikan M400 nib extra fine point nib it leaves such a thick line. It also bled through the paper in a Paperlinks note book and I have never had that before. I tired the same nib with the Diamine Saddle Brown and it now writes like an extra fine nib again. I was surprised by this ink being like this. PS: The bottle looks too good to empty anyway. Really enjoy your reviews.

I'm a big fan of Pelikan's 4001 Royal Blue. Your samples of Edelstein Sapphire, at least to me, look almost identical to the 4001 RB. Is my observation correct or have you noticed clear differences between these two blues that I just wasn't able to pick up from the video? Thanks for the helpful review!

Thank you great video! This ink is so pretty and I like the mandarin color! In fact, I was looking for a nice orange, this mandarin would go in my pelikan fountain pen..

We do have an orange ink package set (www.gouletpens.com/isp-oranges/p/ISP-Oranges) if you want to see what other ink brands have to offer. It has the Pelikan Mandarin in it as well. - Colin

I'm thinking about purchasing a few bottles of that beautiful Adventurin Green. I'm just a sucker for green ink, always have been, even before my newly founded love of fountain pens. I just have a few inquiries about these bottles/vials. Do you currently have them in stock (more specifically the Adventurin Green)? And also how long would 50 milliliters of ink last (I write an average of three US standard 8.5x11 college ruled paper a day)? Thanks. *I am currently using a Lamy CP1 with Kaweco Palm Green ink. I would like to retire that soon and begin using a Kaweco Skyline as an eyedropper with something other than Kaweco ink.

PlaceboTree Hey there! We do have the Aventurine ink in stock: www.gouletpens.com/p339366/p/P339366. It can depend on a lot of factors (nib size, type of paper, etc), but this ink is going to last you a while. I'm thinking over a year! -Margaret

Great presentation! I have 1 question, though. Is the bleedthrough noticable while writing with an M nib? I write in official documents and that would be a kind of a problem. Im interested in TOPAZ. Ragards.

I'm looking for a good green ink, and the ones I have come to like via color are Iroshizuki Shin-Ryoku, Edelstein Jade, Lamy Green, and Diamine Delamere Green. Think you could rank these from wet to dry in your opinion? This will greatly help in my decision.
@radishpineapple7414 жыл бұрын
I like Topaz, Aventurine, and Mandarin the best. The Mandarin reminds me of Noodler's Apache Sunset, but much lighter. I suppose that makes it more difficult to read.
