Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for being so clear about the fact that genes don't mutate with any sort of goal in mind! Evolution is so often presented as some kind of deliberate act, a hero story of overcoming adversity through willful adaptation. If the genetic variation doesn't exist, there's nothing to be selected for or against. Without that understanding, the vital importance of genetic diversity in a population is lost.

Ah yes, the Recurrent Mammalian Laryngeal Nerve. Present in every mammal species discovered to date and proof of one of two things: 1) Evolution is true, or 2) The deity responsible for our design is a comically incompetent engineer.

Obviously the Angel of Supply Chains overordered massively on recurrent laryngeal nerves and the restocking fee was too high, so the Angels of Necks were forced to use the materials to cover up the discrepancy from the Angels of Internal Audits.

Came across to find some supplemental materials for the Introductory Biology course. This is an excellent resource for me as an instructor preparing EMI teaching to non-native speaking students. Thanks so much for offering this fantastic resource. By the way, at 7:50, the description of the morning glory in the southeastern US is correct. But the picture shown is Petunia, not Ipomoea.

The video of Richard Dawkins and a vet removing the laryngeal nerve from a giraffe is one of the best I’ve ever seen! It shows how evolution couldn’t go backwards!

The more i learn biology and evolution. The more i feel stupid and silly of people fighting in the name of religion, nation etc etc. Unity in diversify, that’s the way of life. Humans should learn this basic from nature❤❤💚💚

How did their bodies change. Can you show us the gradual adaptation? What good is adaptation that is not complete and does not give competitive advantage? How does millions of years of non-competitive adaptation eventually come together as a completed system? Can you show us how this works in the lab or in fossil records with many transitions from one form to another with the transitional stages? Using the moths color as adaptive advantage and more breeding partners due to survival under new conditions is kind of lame. How about a more complex adaptation mutation advantage. Like developing fins while still living and hunting on land.
