I never understand why people dislike creators videos? What is not to like about this video? I'm assuming near 100% of people watching this are beginners, so perhaps more advanced people are not liking it, but then why would they watch it in the 1st place? Miffed. Great video!

Brilliant exercises thanks. I’ve been getting really frustrated with changing chords specifically G to D at present and I’m fed up with hearing about beginner songs being easy chord progressions (G C D for example). They’re only easy if you can do them! I can change easily between most of the basic chords but my ring finger just will not land on the correct string of the D chord at the same time as my index and ring fingers which makes a horrid sound as I strum down - loads of rattles and unharmonious noise grrr! One way I’ve found helps me is to always always count the “and” after beat 4 and thats my cue to change, it kinda helps. You’re also giving us that same space to change - when the strum hand is going UP so by the time the strum hand comes DOWN you’ve got your next chord. I’m deffo trying all your exercises to try and get my internal auto pilot instructed properly. Thanks xx

@mr.anonymous55015 жыл бұрын
How come you never decided to just learn as a right handed person would? Just because, the damage to your right hand, and the opposite hand from your usual dominant hand doing the most intricate stuff. Playing right handed, all you'd need to do would be hold the pick, and let your arm and wrist do the strumming movements. Although that would limit you a little if you ever choose to try finger picking.

Fantastic lesson. I already know and do a lot of this stuff., but to hear it spoken so clearly is a good reinforcement for those of us who are still at the novice stages of learning. For example the "nothing chord" is something I struggled with trying to NOT have happen early in my playing, but I realized not only is it OK to do, but it's desirable in many circumstances, even necessary. Great lesson, thanks a lot. Embrace the nothing.

Probably the most helpful video I've found yet on this topic. I had no idea when I started learning the guitar what a stumbling block this would be. I've learned about a dozen chords and have practiced them enough that I can change chords fairly quickly compared with when I was first learning, but this is just with trying to see how many times a minute I can change chords without consideration for anything but one downstrum for each chord change. So when I try to add a strumming pattern to it, it all falls apart. This video shows how to get there in incremental steps. I'm finding that I'm going to need to practice this A LOT before I can make any real improvements in my playing.
