I downloaded Houdini just because I saw this playlist. I watched it and my understanding attribute was connected to mulconst with a value of 0. So I followed some of your tutorials and other tutorials, so I can rewatch this playlist and understand what you're talking about. I did it and then it clicked what all of this is and how it works, so I rewatched this and Intro VOP videos for the third time just so I can grasp exactly what you're doing and saying. Thank you very much, man, you sped up my learning process by at least half a year, which will go up to more than a year after I dive into volumes, pyro, and Solaris.

Excellent video, I learned a lot. I think this is the first time I've controlled the particles (and not the other way around). Bravo ! However, I think there is a logical error in the tornado example. The suction is applied towards the point (0,0,0), which in turn reduces the lift when the particles rise ... and eventually causes the center of the tornado to collapse when the suction is too strong. I think the suction should only be applied towards the Y axis. P.B
@voxyde5 ай бұрын
Yep you are completely right. After you get the vector with subtracting (0,0,0), you should multiply it with a constant (1,0,1). This makes the suction have no vertical force, I forgot to add this part to the setup hehe

Is there a bug in the geometry vop or am I missing something ? With only one point in a popnet and a const (1, 0, 0) in v, after 1 sec the point ends at (1,0,0). If you unplug v and plug a const (0,-9.8, 0) in f the point ends at (0,-5.1, 0)... about right... Now if you plug both at the same time the point ends at (1,-0.4, 0) !
