Thank you for all of the wisdom about saw building. I built my 371xp using your expert advice. Just doing some port work and cutting the skirt off of the bottom of the cylinder plus a little red barn hot saw pop up 50mm piston, with ported muffler really brought that saw to life. That saw almost cuts with my 592xp but just doesn't have the torque. Thanks again please keep the videos coming.

Hello there sir I'm starting a 365 sp build for myself but I won't to do a mild build running stock numbers I'm doing some weight saving on the the piston and about a rist pin is there a lighter rist pin out there that you of off the top of your head that I can use I'm thinking of matching the cases to the cylinder too opening up the lower transfers I was just looking for your input on what else I can do on the saw.
@larrywarner9314Ай бұрын
Harvey I live in Pennsylvania and the two Husqvarna dealership have the 372 xp xtorq models and the one place is $1350 , the second one is $1200 , and there is a third but he sells heavy equipment and he has both Stihl and Husqvarna and he's even more $1400
@larryw5429Ай бұрын
If you can't cut the base you can't or shouldn't cut the squish because you will lose compression unless you use a different piston like 268/272 style piston and do some grinding and know your stuff with timing the ports!
@kramerkid02Ай бұрын
Harvey, hello from just up the road in Hornell. I have a 2021 Husky 372xp OE I can bring by for you to check out if you want. Interesting saw for sure. Gilardoni cylinder, single piston ring. Let me know if you want me to stop by.

The thing of investment of effort into the channel, it makes a tonne of sense. There's a worrying thing, I would have a concern about of influencer's in the timber area, . . over-doing it. It's not only 'the sticker price' of these new expensive tools, . . it's 'the total cost of ownership', or the 'cradle to grave' costs, which the timber community has to be honest about. Because folks who see a nice 500i or 592 on a free influencer's channel or stream, may walk away thinking or believing it's easy to own and run these items of equipment. Or it's about self sufficiency or such, or a new way to make a living. One has to be honest about this stuff, the economics of getting into saw tools for the vast majority of folks is prohibitively expensive. It's one of those monkey's on one's back, a lot more folks who really stand back and ask themselves, does it make sense to be doing this or not? And then, what KZbin did was it seemed to introduce a newer aspect to the 'thread mill' type of deal that owning expensive tools, without sound justification, it can be. Where guys seem to just land on to their channel, sporting some brand new, highly sophisticated piece of new gear, and then proceding tomshow us all how to cut log cookies. Making an argument, that 'the channel' is what is essential, . . that in order to feed 'the channel', that one requires the new shiny toy. This is dangerous, and it shouldn't be recommended. I've spent a lifetime doing financial management for self-employed trades and crafts people or builders, from the smallest up to the largest, underground and overground construction. And as far as 'total cost of ownership' goes, the two-stroke engine thing is one of the most hassle abundant, scary, cost prohibitive affairs that I've ever seen. And everything in the whole timber supply chain, whether it's mule logging, or small commercial band saw milling, is high capital cost intensive, back breaking, risky, unstable and thin margin. And KZbin has undoubtedly over glamourized that, and presented a reality that is more rosy than it is.
