I'm striking harder and softer on my mouse key but it doesn't affect velocity, What am I doing wrong? (Just kidding).

How did you get that thing that says acoustic piano
@KimberleeSwisher4 жыл бұрын
hi, I'm sorry I somehow missed seeing this! That is a pre-populated umenu object. Umenu is just a regular max object that you can fill with your own menu items. This one is filled with the general midi standards. If you want to download it, you can get it on my website: kimberleeswisher.com/midiprogram

@@KimberleeSwisher Hi Kim. Would it be possible to obtain the data using [pgmin] and connect it to [umenu] or some object that would hold the data ?
@KimberleeSwisher4 жыл бұрын
@@313jacob no promises because I haven't used this myself, but it seems that yes, if you have an external midi device, you should be able to use pgmin to get the program # from the device, and then use that number to set the program with pgout.

Hello, yesterday I did this and it was working fine. Today - no sound :( and I can't figure out why...
@KimberleeSwisher4 жыл бұрын
hmmm.. Does it work if you restart Max? What about other programs on your computer, did you open GarageBand or another program that may have used the MIDI driver?
@rnsrp24 жыл бұрын
@@KimberleeSwisher I found out what's going on. It was my ASIO4ALL driver that was causing midi to crash whenever I added a video with sound to the patch.

thank you for the video... just a question... how do you make the list with the pgmout and you select whichever you want?
@KimberleeSwisher6 жыл бұрын
This is a umenu object that has been populated with all the general midi defaults. You can enter these manually by using the inspector and going to Menu Items and clicking the Edit button. Add them separated by commas. The general midi defaults can be found at the wikipedia page for general midi: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_MIDI

Thank you for the video. But I have a question, the three numbers below select(60, 63,67) when I save. And I open the Max again,the number all missing, all become zero. How can I improve?(sorry my English is poor.)
@KimberleeSwisher5 жыл бұрын
hi Chang, yes, Max does this. Integer boxes default to zero when you open a patch. You can you use message boxes instead. Or, if you want Max to remember the numbers that were in an integer box, you can use a preset object.

Quick note: You have to first Lock the screen before being able to hear any sounds!! Else the piano won't play~! (Lock is in the bottom left corner!!)
