I myself suffered with Global Developmental Delay as a child, but hasn’t stopped me from learning new things like, languages, words and more. It just takes time sometimes for your brain to store new information. I guess if it wasn’t for the therapy, I wouldn’t be where I am today and probably be more affected by it. I do suffer with depression and social anxiety. I also become obsessive over silly things. I guess I do over analyse at times. Especially when I had braces to correct a dental issue. I kept thinking why do they retract teeth, does it affect airway due to pushing back the upper teeth? Turns out I was right. Now I need jaw surgery. All they did was not listen to me and did what they want. The evil camouflage treatment which made my issue worse. Damn dentists.. They don’t listen to people with disabilities because they assume we have low intelligence. It’s patronising. I think anyone with disabilities can improve and make progress. You just have to believe in yourself and let go of doubts. Sometimes yourself can be your worse enemy at times. I don’t let it stop me at times and continue to still make progress. I have a lot of social problems like, communicating and eye contact. But have slowly improved and don’t have trouble looking people in the eyes as much. I used to just look at the ground whenever I go out in public because I was too scared to see what people would think of me. When you have a disability, you want to feel accepted and not treated differently. Because at the end of the day we are all the same. Thanks for reading and have a great day!

hello.. we are from pakistan... my child is daignosed with GDD today... in autism resource center lahore .... we were suspecting it to be autism... but they denied.... our baby is 20 months.. not responding to his name

No..aisa nahi hoga...I have my first child with Operation who is 9 yrs now .n 4 yrs old baby girl as second child by operation this time too.with extra cautious doc planned operation with onset of 9 month 1 st week itself..alhomdolillah she is fine..

Speech therapy!!!!!! And practicing sounds at home.

Say everything she isn't saying back at her as a question. That gets them used to hearing the sounds and sentences.
