I used to live in Ahwatukee and played rugby for Tempe 12 years ago. I wish I found your channel during the time I lived out there. I was relatively fast but I could’ve been much faster if I had proper training

Awesome advice. Your advice on my sprint start really clicked my start into place. Would def recommend your analysis on technique. It was that missing piece that was overlooked and diagnosed as weak hip extension. Thanks. Sprint starts feel right and better, practice is key now.

I am only able to sprint in dirt not hard packed tracks at a school.. I go off road to natural landscape. My joints cannot handle hard ground..or asphalt or concrete and such.

Nice question
@ATHLETE.X
@ATHLETE.X 3 жыл бұрын
Definitely a good question. It comes as a result of putting force down vertically, as well from your posture becoming more vertical as you accelerate. It happens naturally if you’re putting force down into the ground, but should be worked on if people look like they’re speed skater lunging their way through the sprint and staying excessively low to the point of detriment.

Hi CB, hope all is well. I had a question. You said that "actively swinging the arm downward in tandem with the leg, can help contribute weak forces to the ground strike". Maurice Green says that the hands should be swing down like a hammer. Is that wrong advice? Or by "weak forces", do you mean it will 'add additional force to the ground strike, hence being a good thing? Thanks, appreciate your hard work!

Great question Wayne. Maurice is right, and your interpretation is correct, in that the arm swing can add additional force to the ground strike if the arm motion is timed properly. So an aggressive arm swing downward, timed with the leg strike, will help make for a slightly more forceful ground contact compared to if the arms were not swung down with good timing and aggression.

I just wanted to say this it was on my mind: Your skin does not look healthy. I can see you live in what looks like a sunny place or at least work out in the sun a lot. Don't forget to use sunscreen.

Thank you for the reminder. Part of it is the light I used was blasting me so I look a little different than in natural light, but after reading this I brought some sun screen with me today and made sure to utilize the shade more. I appreciate you caring enough to say something
