Does anyone know if the gutteral screaming gets toned downed in later seasons? Less than 15 minutes into the first episode and I can't stand it.

Yes it gets toned down. I'm up to episode 5 and it's pretty much gone now. Hope that's useful.

I think the gutteral screaming is just a Wolves thing. The other episodes don't really have it. Then again none of the other episodes include a deathmatch, so that could also be a factor.
