Run, do not walk, to your nearest book dealer, music shop, or online store and get a copy of this book. I've been waiting for something like this since I've been playing ukulele (~ 2 years). It's terrific!

You simply must get this. I've had it a month and love it (Calluses blossoming). It definitely has some beginner songs -- e.g. "l Saw The Light" typically uses only 2 strings! "L-O-V-E" , intermediate IMHO, has a beautiful arrangement. "After You've Gone" is a lil tougher but worth all effort.

Hi James! I love Duets for One! What are the chances of you playing entire pieces, here? I don't need a whole lesson, but it would be great to be able to watch your fingering. I'm currently working on Georgia On My Mind, and even the short demo helped.

In your book, you often use 9th chords--In Georgia you use an E9 chord with 4645 and in After You're Gone, you use the same formation with the D9 chord--2425. When moving from the previous chord, what is the most efficient way of fingering these chords 1, 4, 2, 3 or 1, 3, 1, 2. Which do you use?

Just got the book today. Looks great. I assume the arrangements work with either high or low G(?)
@jameshillmusiq4 жыл бұрын
The book is written for high-G but can be adapted for low-G. 99% of it works either way, there are just a few passages that use the 4th string to play melody. Those would need to be altered slightly. Uke on, Paul!
@sixfourtyfive2 жыл бұрын
Does any of the songs in the book work with low g?

Wait,...does it mean there’s a CD where you play a version and I can play another???? Please let me know before I get too excited 😆. Thank you.
@leetmeatz7 жыл бұрын
Hey James, quick question. Would these arrangements still sound good on a low G ukulele? The samples sounded great on your high G. I'll definitely be picking this up soon!
@JoeDockrill7 жыл бұрын
JP Relvas everything sounds better on low G except George Formby
@jameshillmusiq7 жыл бұрын
Other than a few moments that rely on the high-G string, most of the arrangements will work just fine on a low G uke. I grew up playing in low G (well, low A because of Canadian tuning) so I know it well. Enjoy!

I have arthritis & fingerpicking has been the best physical therapy for the year that i have been playing (5+ hrs a day)... i use those squeeze balls to loosen finger joints before warming up on uke... Just saying... I have found that mental deception from the Truth can prevent us from doing good things for our bodies even if it hurts at the beginning...and I am 70 yrs young...!!!

Only problem with the ebooks offered not just this one. The music sheets Don't enlarge with the texts??? As they are hard to read the scores .. I've had this problem with other musical ebooks as well. But this book is an awesome one .. And had to re-order the physical one. Just couldn't pass this one up !!!
@marilynrigby45536 жыл бұрын
I scan the music to my desktop and save as a PDF file to a sheet music folder on my desktop. Then I can zoom in and make it as big as it needs to be. It has been a godsend. With James' The Ukuleleway series, I didn't even need to do that much work. The sheet music was already there, and I only had to zoom in.
