Excellent lesson and easy to follow on the scale shape pattern tabs. I wonder why other ukulele lessons here in you tube do not format lessons like you👍👍👍👍. I play bass and guitar and your lessons are formatted the same as you. EASY TO FOLLOW!

Thanks Phil! I've always been the one who passes when it's time to solo. I knew the pentatonic scale was useful on that but I wasn't sure how and you really explained it for me! Breathlessly waiting on the next two installments here.

fabulous to find you here, Mr. Phil! I'm probably not exactly a beginner but, due to the panicdemic and other issues, I've not been playing nearly enough ukulele. I've gotten *horribly* rusty, which has led me to search for inspiration here on the YouToobs and lawsy! some folks should woodshed a bit more before offering "lessons." good to find someone who knows what they're talking about. I've subscribed and will be checking out all of your upcoming vids. be well!

Great to hear from you HH, hope you're doing well. You know, years ago that leaflet you put out with the Nashville numbers for common progressions? That was what set me on the road to learning more about music theory, so thank you!

Phil what would be thePattern for C maj Pent Scale on a Baritone ?
@PhilDoleman4 жыл бұрын
Hi Peter, You can just move this pattern up to the 5th fret, so it would be 5, 7 on the G string, 5, 8 on the B string and 5, 8 on the E string.

Albert ( Québec) So if l understand, if a song is in the key of C, l can accompany by playing all notes that is in the C major pentatonic scale and it will be ok. Is it what we call jamming in English. Thanks
@PhilDoleman2 жыл бұрын
Hi Albert. Yes, providing the song only uses chords that belong in the key. We often call it jamming, yes!
@irenesights76693 жыл бұрын
Thank you sooo much. Btw, how could you hold the ukuleke easily? Especially when you have to change the cord and you need to move your left hand quite far without afraid the ukulele will slip.
@PhilDoleman3 жыл бұрын
You do get used to playing without a strap, (in fact I have a lesson on holding the uke from way back, here kzbin.info/www/bejne/pHnTfWCLaNaNb6M), but in this video my right hand fingers are lightly resting on the edge of the uke, just enough to support it.

Hi Phil I have just tried to subscribe to you monthly lessons but there's a problem, whilst filling in my card number random numbers were added so I had to keep on deleting these until it was all correct. When I finally filled the form and hit subscribe the order wouldn't go, please can you help, regards, John.
@PhilDoleman Жыл бұрын
Hi John, I'm afraid I'm not able to see any of the credit card or other details, that's all dealt with by Patreon. I can tell you that I don't have any record of you joining in the last couple of days, so that would suggest it just failed, so it might be worth another try. Failing that, try contacting Patreon support here support.patreon.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
