I tried these BARD extensions and it could only give 3 out of 5 questions I asked it about my Gmail. One question like "To which email address do I send the most emails to ?" it responded with : "I cannot determine to which email address you send the most emails to, because I do not have enough information." Flights are spot on and the info it can give is truly amazing. Its like having a pivot table of all airline data. Well done Google team.

The only reason I like this update is because it shows they are not just trying to keep up with the Jones (Openai) but have a unique plan leveraging what they already have, which is a lot. both bard and bing are censored to a degree that you can't get anything serious done. they always err on the safety side and refuse to answer simple questions if they decide what you're talking about can be problematic (even if it's not or you're inquiring the chatbot for, say academic or research purposes) the winner of the ai chatbot war will be the one with the least censoring. at least that's where my monthly subscription will go. otherwise I'll stick with open source/offline chatbots. they're not that censored and can talk like an adult rather than acting like a kindergarten teacher.

I used to have the same issue. But I started using it for help at work when I'd normally go to certain forums for help. It's been a huge help (and that other chat bot). I've learned more in Excel in the last month than I have over the previous years. Put your thoughts into text...magic happens. It can help with almost anything. Think small first. You don't have to use for huge problems

I hope someday soon that Bard will actually give correct answers when asking for formulas or equations, periodically it will give the right equation, but entering the recommended values in a calculator gives a completely different results than what Bard returns

No, it's not plausible at the moment, that would require the hotels and flight companies to create an interface for Bard to use. You have to remember that these companies don't like machines using their websites (hence why they use things like CAPTCHA), so Google can't just allow Bard to go in and book something. This is the same reason as to why ChatGPT needs plugins to do anything, if you're familiar with those then you'll know that the developers from the companies create the plugins, not OpenAI. Personally I don't see it happening until at least after an API is released, especially considering that I'm not aware of any documentation on how to make extensions yet. It's unfortunately just not something that Google is able to make happen by themselves.

This is getting better and better. The Bard extensions into Gmail and Docs cannot search very deeply just yet, and Bard said that it can't create a document for Google Docs, but this feature is in the works. And I need to play with Bard's connection to Google Assistant, because I have been dying to be able to use an assistant to work math problems, but they all fall short. Hopefully Google Assistant, leveraging Bard, can provide math assistance for electronics projects, ie, "Hey Google, connect to Bard...Bard, I have a network of resistors for which I need to work out the current flow at certain nodes..." I can't wait!

Starting to get useful. Excited to see the evolution of its integration with gmail. I think we're still SORT of fighting to find truly useful applications for it, but I think we can all feel it... a few more iterations and this thing will be able to handle a lot of our mental load for us... budgeting, bill payment, and other money-related applications might be a possibility down the line a little.
