can anyone help? I'm looking at the course as a gift. I cannot see anywhere on the BBC website about how you get to actually taste wines etc from this online course for £80. Surely there needs to be some actual tasting too?

Hi there, the course does have lessons on wine tasting, but you do not receive any wine when you own the course. The wine tasting lessons covers how to taste wine and gives an understanding of the components and process of wine tasting across a variety of wines, and how to compare and judge the quality of the wine.

@@BBCMaestro Ok. Thank you. I'm trying to find a course for someone to give them a full understanding of wine. This course sounds more of a theoretical one. That's good, but not without leading onto practical application (I would think). Is there any additional recommendation for the "2nd" step?

I don’t know how many people have tried to teach me about wine and I really have tried to taste the flavors that they say are in the wine. But I just can’t taste it, wine tastes like wine. I guess I am a hopeless case…
