What I have used in the past is a Cart/Work bench with heavy-duty casters. Raise vehicle lower down to cart. Unbolt all and raise up lift. Works great to move around shop swap parts ets. Normally we would use for full swaps chassis suspention etc.Once all bolted on Position than lower vehicle and finish up.

It’s crazy how Cleetus said how Leroy’s engine held for 300 passes, which if you do the math, 300 quarter-mile passes are equal to roughly 75 miles. If you include driving back to the pits, city driving, half mile events, and dyno testing, that engine should only have about 200 to 250 miles on it. For what the engine is used for, that’s pretty good, but for a normal car engine it would be hilarious.

Plus, the only reason the engine has any problems is because he did runs first with more boost than it could handle then he did runs without coolant. Take the coolant out of a "normal car" at 200-250 miles and drive the fuck out of it like they did and it wouldn't be as funny. Just sayin......

Yea just spun #4 bearing myself on the track... Racecar life. For the record you would need to replace the discolored rod as well as the bearing. With all that metal in the oil you would want to replace all the bearings and the oil pump. Soooo full engine rebuild. I am actually taking this opportunity to replace and upgrade my whole rotating assy. Great work. Also think about spraying some clear rustolium under the car to save all the nostalgia for when Leroy is in that museum.

The bearings eating themselves up and leaving metal all throughout the oil system won't have any impact on the impeller or turbine wheels. It didn't shit a valve and the bearing material didn't enter the combustion chamber. So there is no reason for a proper inspection of the blades on either the compressor or turbine wheels...

That happens when debris, sand/dirt have gone through the turbo or water injection is sprayed in the turbo inlet. Doing a bearing in your motor can't damage the comp or turbine wheels. Fuck me drunk guys. Y'all need to learn a bit more about engines

Texas Speed was posting a lot of photos of this engine during the build. Can not wait to see it perform. Also, are those Stock Rocker Arms on your first engine? I assume there is trunion upgrades in them tho. Just impresses me how well the LS is build and how much it can handle, tho I think the Limit of stock Rocker Arms is around 400 Lbs of open spring pressure with around .620 lift. I am still running stock rockers on my built 5.3 with CHE Bronze Bushings.

P.s. get a dry sump. I run one on a simple track built LS3, when you go so fast round a bend or in a line, you will get oil moving from its' intended location in them. When you get really serious you need to also look at return lines from your heads. Call John at Aviaid and he will sort you out bro.

Maiden, 1300hp and 30 psi is not a big ask for a modern engine design. Plenty of daily driven 4L Barras do that with factory block and head. That LS has design limitations causing the head to lift.

As far as I have been told, iron holds onto heat more than alluminum does. Hopefully uou had time to see if the cooling system was up to the task before LS Fest. Other than that, the iron block should be able to handle everything you want to do with it. Happy digging and burnouts from Washingtone State.

Probably because of the loop they added over the driver's seat. They probably figured that the loop was going to be strong enough and adding the x-bracing would just be redundant and unnecessary extra weight. Oooorrr they ran out of time and are planning on finishing it after LS Fest.
