I have watched this video multiple times, it's mesmerizing. I want to see it play on the big screen at Times Square. It saddens me that so few people know it exists. Thank you One World One Ocean for all that you are doing to save this program.

One out of four people worldwide subsist primarily on seafood. That's the only source of protein in their diet. The bulk of these are rural Chinese and Indian. Currently, ocean acidification is killing off coral reefs, which are needed by all edible fish stocks for breeding. Aquarius studies the effects of acidification on coral reefs and how to reverse it.

just watched a Big Think video by astronaut Ron Garan, who visited this place. As soon as he said, underwater laboratory I started thinking of images from comic books and sci-fi. I'm freaked out by being in the Ocean. Maybe cause it's so different. But this place sounds amazing. Had to check it out. Hope it's still continuing.

It is an incredible feet of technology with near endless possiblities in the field of biological science but I can understand why the finding is being cut. There are more pressing matters to attend to like the well being if the surface world and it's people. I like the idea of an underwater science facility, it's just not necessary right now.

Aquarius primarily studies the role of oceanic acidification in coral reef decline. This is important because all edible species of fish rely on coral reefs for refuge and reproduction, and one in four people globally get all of the protein in their diet from fish. Most of that demographic consists of poor fishermen, rural peasants and factory workers in nations we outsource to.

This proves that the world needs more underwater labs and the US government should have been providing more support to Aquarius. I'm sorry but governments don't understand the need for scientific advancement unless it strikes them in the face. You need to get the people involved in a big way. Give us information, something to ooh and aaaw over. Something that stirs our emotions, good and bad. Let us know what is going on down there. How can we help when it seems that everything you do is hidden? Where is your blog, your facebook or twitter account? Are there more videos on You Tube or Vimeo that we can identify with?
