I'm well chuffed my pick ups are relating to those who remember them the most. Do you mind me asking what happened to your grifter?..

@dealermike1331 It was sold in the local paper to help fund my next bike (a racer with drop handle bars !!). I'd kept it in good condition. I remember fitting a cool looking Raleigh front lamp that was styled to look like a car fog lamp with a plastic grill. It was also the bike I passed my cycling proficiency test on in '81. Thank you for bringing back some great memories 👍

That's a great story Eddie, thanks for sharing. The grifter hasn't been cleaned for literally decades so I'll be doing a full strip down on the bike and clean up which you might enjoy watching

It is an engineering master piece of the 80's.. I'm glad I grew up in the 'grifter mudguard era'...

Hi Mike great video!! I did see them three bikes listed in Brentwood, was tempted but it's just lack of room for me but wheels are in motion lol 😂. Everything that was worth any money from the bent frame has been sold on. Just the frame and forks left
