1. The hatch rattle is so easy to fix, two small washers and it’s all good. The dealers usually will do it for free in a few minutes. Two, the 2023 model year is coming ;)

I just purchased a 2018 GT2 and its the best car I've ever driven, super happy about it. I'm also from Grand Rapids Michigan, super glad to see people enjoying our lovely weather lmao.

great lesson here, always be close to the thing you love the most and good things will happen. If you do what you love, you'll be happier. So many people wake up and go to a job they could truly care less about. Good on you young guy for realizing a great lesson early on in your adulthood.

The Stinger is such an underrated gem. I took delivery of my 2023 GT Elite (GT2 AWD equivalent) in Canada on June 2 and it's absolutely amazing. Similar German rivals when equipped with the same features at near $90k CAD, while the Stinger is in the mid $60k CAD, which is cheaper than in the US too. Thankfully, no rattles or much in the way of quality issues in my car and I'm already over 1000 kms in two week. Great introduction to yourself too. I also wanted to be some sort of vehicle engineer but went into civil and building science later.

hey how are you liking your stinger :)? do you mind sharing how much you are paying monthly for the car? here in the US, I found one for OTD at 57k but that is the lowest :/
@ShafinRehman2 жыл бұрын
@@narutolol3199 Absolutely loving it! Already put 6500 kms since June. In Canada, the Stinger is a lot cheaper than in the States. After tax, it was around $66k CAD, which is like $51k USD. I'm paying about $850 a month after a $22k downpayment and 5 year finance at 4.99%. Not great, but it's okay. The car itself makes me very happy.

For launch control, make sure you’re in sport mode. Hold the traction button to turn off traction AND stability. Press the brake and gas at the same time then GO GO GO!!

Cool getting to learn more about you and your journey to TheTopher/WR/DM! Funnily enough, even being in grad school for engineering now, I still have a lot of interest in getting into automotive KZbin/content creation, and sometimes I wish I had just gotten onto that path from the beginning lol. I could definitely see myself contributing to a channel like Daily Motor or something in the future. Probably on the side to start out and if I don’t end up liking engineering then try to make it full time. Love the Stinger GT, too. Super cool car. As much as I try to stay above discussions of brand stigma, image issues, stereotypes of cars and buyers, etc personally, there’s something to be said for the fact that it’s an insider’s choice and shows you’re an intelligent buyer. I’ve seen quite a few of ‘em at car meets and supposedly they actually respond really well to mods. People push GT’s to like 500 hp on stock internals, and some of the exhausts low key make them sound like Ghiblis. Pretty wild stuff, and definitely hope people keep buying them new so Kia keeps making them!

Nice story! You're right about "it's who you know, not what you know". My career started off very similar to yours - fresh out of vocational school, job market was rough (shortly after the 08 recession), went back home. I got lucky with an opportunity through a connection and here I am nearly a decade later in a management position from it, fairly happy with my work and life. It takes work and time but you'd be surprised how things improve as you get older. I gotta say I'm envious you get to work with cars, haha. Hope life works out really well for you.

I was a bit confused at first because I’ve been watching THE Topher for a few years now. He actually helped convince me to get the Accord (2.0 Touring) that I was really infatuated with. Then I started watching Charlie on Daily Motor. It seems that you are about like Topher and Charlie. Like you, I have been so intrigued with cars since as long as I can remember. (I have a tendency to bore people talking about cars). I look forward to seeing more of your videos. Thank you.

🇬🇧 I really enjoyed these videos of you revealing how you gotten into doing Car reviews, where your Schools were and bumping into Chris (TheTopher). I laughed when you were talking about him meeting you for the 1st time at the Ford Dealership in Ipsalanti MI. I find it great therapy for me watching videos by all you guys, Chris, Charlie from Daily Motor (of which I am a member at the time of writing this comment), and the awesome Tedward from Boston MASS. I’ll have to check out his Therapy Drives series for myself! Keep this channel going as I’ve already subscribed and look forward to seeing more from you! 🇬🇧

Hey man loved the video! You should try a tuned Stinger GT, it feels like a completely different car! Mine makes 450hp and I will never go back to stock :)

I’m so curious to experience a tuned Stinger. I take it it’s responded pretty well! Does your tune change the feel of the power delivery much from stock or does it feel pretty similar just with more oomph?

@@williamlong2682 Depends on the tune. I have a lap3 ecu and the power delivery is still very smooth!

Unrelated question but would you rather get a Stinger as your only car or get a somewhat fun crossover like a mazda cx5 and get a GR86 later to add to the garage
