Fun fact. What did Thomas Margolf do before he made NerdSEQ? Among other things, he designed the LSDj-MC2, an LSDj MIDI interface. But, what did Tim Lamb do before he made the Dirtywave M8? Why, he made the Arduinoboy, an LSDj MIDI interface. I'm telling you, making MIDI interfaces is a gateway drug to making trackers.

NerdSeq is my all time favourite eurorack sequencer - I've tried Five12 Vector, WMD Metron and others, and although I am sure I am not using it to its full potential yet, this thing gets me results so fast it's incredible and super fun to use. Very entertaining "presentation" mate. Cheers.

Absolutely lovely stuff. I'm getting into the Nerdseq myself but haven't quite yet found the time to get it properly up and running. The hope is that it will work alongside me using the Polyend Tracker as a kind of "master" brain, with the Nerdseq itself then running as a kind of "limbic system" inside the overall organism (which I do appreciate is a very pretentious way of putting it). I'm rocking the 1010Music Bitbox and Squarp Rample instead of the Squid Salmple, and my voices tend to come from my 2 Disting EXs, but obviously you're showing off a great setup here. Keep up the good work boss.

Woah! Sometimes I’ll think about getting a M8 but dang feels like I’d love a NerdSeq to compose whole sections of things. Right now I can pull off evolving jams but harder transitions of parts are a bit tricky depending how I created it all. Perhaps something to think about exploring with a bit of extra space of another row. Love the drum samples and processing of them and this jam is so good! Would you say a Nerdseq would be good in a smaller 7u system?
@StephenMcLeod7 ай бұрын
Hey thanks! Sorry for the delayed reply. Yeah, I think NerdSEQ would be great for lots of systems - but it will largely depend on what other modules you have and what you want to achieve!
@turbotambourine7 ай бұрын
@@StephenMcLeod Absolutely! That makes sense for sure. I feel like it would be interesting for sure to mess around with because of the fairly flexible way compositions happen. From what I’ve watched there’s quite a lot of opportunities to play around with pieces and build them up over time. Nice if you wanted to really plan out something long with high degree of control. It’s funny as the more I get into modular the more jello like I feel like it all is. Lots of opportunities to inject a lot of expressiveness, chaos or variation to almost anything if you have a couple key modules.

did you ever resolve the issue of powering your synths using a power supply that reduces the clutter of all the cables? Does the CIOKS work?
@StephenMcLeod2 ай бұрын
I haven't used a CIOKS personally - but I have something similar as a kind of desktop psu for switching between synths. The problem is finding one with enough output - most guitar ones are low, and not suitable for synthy stuff.
