You will need these commands during the installation process:
Command 1: setenv ipaddr 192.168.0.10; setenv serverip 192.168.0.40; mw.b 0x82000000 0xff 0x1000000; tftp 0x82000000 backup-hi3536dv100v3.bin
(Change the 192.168.0.10 to the NVR IP and the 192.168.0.40 to the TFTP IP)
Command 2: sf probe 0; sf lock 0; sf erase 0x0 0x1000000; sf write 0x82000000 0x0 0x1000000
The hardware (Air Unit + Ground Station) costs less than 50$ (all included) and can be found EVERYWHERE.
More supported cameras will be added with functions such as motorised optical zoom, IRCUT and latency as low as 30ms. It supports MAVLINK1 or MAVLINK2 bidirectional telemetry which makes it a complete solution for a quadcopter or fixed wing/VTOL. It also has WFB-ng link preinstalled and this means it has serious long range capabilities.

Exactly! The programming part will push a lot of folks away. It’s not that some can’t do it it’s a time thing and or some people have no patience like myself at my age with this tech stuff. I used to love doing all this programming stuff but not anymore. I already have DJI V2 system and Walksnail but I’d probably dump all that if OpenIPC gets a GUI going that makes setting up much easier.

What a work, man you should be proud and make a ready to use system or a DIY KIT with pcb and components to solder with all step documented for programming and running (i suck at programming except VBA ^^ but i'm good at solder like a lot of people. 100% i will buy it and i'm sure i am not alone ! We need an open source affordable HD FPV system ! i have trusted HDZero for that and i had been disappointed a lot with their new product and pricing. Please tell me, after installing all this, what steps are needed every time in the field to actually start flying (assuming I am using googles with HDMI input and 12V BEC to power the VRX?)? How much time does it take to establish connections/passwords/frequencies every time from scratch?

Dear MarioFPV, should i use Venc or Majestic on that NVR ? on the Camera side (using openIPC), should i use majestic or Vdec ? where can i find the drone.key and gs.key ?

You can use majestic or venc on the gk7205 cameras. On the ssc338q your only option is majestic. On the NVR your only option is vdec. To generate your private encrypted keys, run wfb_keygen on the NVR. Then copy the gs.key in /etc folder of the NVR and the drone.key in /etc folder of the camera. Cheers mate!😊🍻

Wow this is crazy, I might put this in a flying wing, it looks amazing. Correct me if I'm wrong, you have this WiFi USB stick in that "VRX" one of the 2 USB ports, and an IP camera with another USB WiFi stick and firmware flash and "done"?

You have the VRX and one WiFi stick plugged on one of the USB port and an IP camera with another WiFi stick. 1x VRX, 1x IP camera and 2x WiFi sticks. The VRX will have to be connected to goggles or an HDMI monitor. Cheers mate!😊🍻

Yes, after you successfully flash the NVR you need to ssh in the NVR with the command “ssh root@NVR_IP” (password 12345) and then type “sysupgrade -k -r -n”. Cheers mate!😊🍻

Hey Mario! Awesome work! I've already flashed a 7205v210 with openipc venc . Which image can we use for this nvr board ? Ive bought one , it should arrive this week. Also , if there's no venc/vdec type fw , its enough if i compile it , and then copy over to the nvr (after successful openipc fw install)?

Not yet. I’m waiting for the new camera that has 720p@120fps mode. Some preliminary tests made by the developers showed 30ms glass to glass. They were also able to have 1080p@90fps mode which is insane! Cheers mate!😊🍻

Mario, I am not familiar with the constraints involved so pardon my ignorance. Could there be some work around? Perhaps a custom PCB that creates its own IP address that could be used between the camera and transmitter? The work you're doing is 10/10 but the biggest hang up for me is the cameras. Yes it works. Make sure you don’t type l(small L) instead of I(capital i). These are very basic skills that someone should have before proceeding with downloading and installing the software.
