At what age do u let ur female cats to mate? Im currently has a 7 month old female thats on heat. I dont want to let her mate because i read its not recommended to let them mate before reaching fully matured. But im kinda worried if i didnt let her mate, she ll get pyometra

Hello there, Unfortunately it is an extremely difficult age to navigate. For us in Australia we are not permitted to breed girls prior to 9 months of age. If you can hold your girl off until then and she’s a good size that would be advisable. However I completely understand the dilemma with pyometra, what you could look into is a melatonin chip, or melatonin tablets. I would be hesitant to advise anything stronger as you don’t want to hinder her future fertility. Best of luck, I’m always happy to advise as best I can xx

Hi my name is Sherry from Seattle WA. I just happened to come across your channel and have been watching all the different mommas with their babies. So adorable! 🥰I don't know anything about breeding so I was wondering how many females do you breed at a time? And do you use the same male? And do you bring in the males or keep them at your house? Also how many times do you breed each female, I got the jist that you keep a female from each litter to breed, but when do you stopping breeding the same cat and what happens to the females when you stop breeding them? Sorry for all the questions lol. My friend had bought a ragdoll from a breeder theat I think she knew because she'd said she had waited quite awhile for it to be ready to leave the nest. But I lost touch with him her so anyway 😂... Next question, I've never owned a long hair cat and I know that they require a lot of grooming to prevent matts? So how much time do you spend brushing, bathing etc? And lastly how many moms and litters of kittens do you have at a time? It's got you be a lot of around the clock work, so do you have any help? Okay I lyed 😂1 more question how much does it cost and does the buyer also pay for airfare or how does that work? Thank you so much and very adorable kittens! I'm in love! ❤

Hello Sherry, Thankyou for your comment and welcome to my channel, I will do my best to answer your questions 😊 The number of litters at a time greatly varies depending on the season, female cats will normally come ‘on call’ as the daylight lengthens in late winter/early spring. Female cats usually call on and off until they are mated and fall pregnant. So we tend to have most of our litters born in spring and summer. This past winter I only had the one litter (Tiny’s litter). We try to spread out when our litters are born, but this can depend entirely on our cats. The next question regarding how many litters a female has? also depends entirely on the individual cat. Sometimes cats just don’t handle being a mother well, or maybe they have a difficult birth etc, if I feel a cat just isn’t suited to being a breeding queen, I will desex. So; sometimes a queen may only have one litter with me and others may have multiple litters over the span of years. We do have restrictions over how often a queen can have a litter and how many in her lifetime. Most of my girls are rehomed from 2yrs-4yrs with the occasional staying on to 5yrs. They are then desexed and given time to recover and for hormones to settle before I find them a loving indoor home 🤍 The grooming varies between each cat, I try to brush/comb each a few times a week, the change of the season when they shed the winter coat is a lot of work. Yes, this is very much a lifestyle and a lot of hard work, but also so rewarding. At this stage America is a bit far to send a pet kitten, I can recommend USA breeders; USApurrs, Newmoondolls, Pearls Ragdolls and Willowtreerags as well known honest breeders. Hopefully I answered most of your questions 🐱 Take care xx

Thank you so much for your info. So me being an animal lover that had taken in strays all my life I'm really saddened by the fact that you have to rehome your females after loving them for 3 to 5 years. 😢How do you do it? If I had a cat for that long it would crush me to let them go. 😭 My cat was a runt and a stray who'd adopted me but she passed away and I've been crushed ever since and cannot bring myself to get another because I cannot stand to go through that again. Sorry I'm blabbering 😂. Thank you for your beautiful kitty videos and please tell me how you cope with rehoming cats that you've owned for so long long.

You’re right, some are much harder than others when they’ve been with me so long, I have 2 girls around 4 years old and still very good queens…but I have no idea how I’m going to part with them when it’s their time ❤️🩹
