I suppose it's an interesting idea to have the camera mount...what is it, about 17 inches below whatever surface the dolly wheels are sitting on? But how often are you going to set your dolly on track that's more than those 17 inches in the air? Or on the edge of a cliff? Wouldn't it be nice if you could mount the scissor arm 17 inches higher? Then instead of only getting 40.6 inches of vertical travel from low mode to the very top, you would get all 57.5 inches. That seems like it would come in a lot more handy. The only way you could get the full vertical travel on a moving shot the way it is now is if there was a trench between your wheels, or you were on raised track, possibly with the dolly going sideways. It just seems like either the scissor arm should mount to the dolly higher. I imagine the drive motor is at the back of the dolly, but with just another set of gears and drive chains, there could be a 90 degree riser at the front of the dolly to get that scissor arm up in a much more convenient place.
